Chaintech NF3-250 :D

But I have to return it back to the distributor this Thursday

I hope I can have time to do some benches with it.

And so, NF3-250 will come very soon. ;)

Almost the same as ZNF3-150 :D

geez, look at all those warning stickers

what cpu are you testing it with?

i wonder when we will see those intel nforce boards i keep hearing about... 775 maybe? if nvidia was smart they would jump on the chance to intro a 775 ddr1 chipset. nobody wants ddr2 atm.

i thought the NF3-250 were dual channel? and socket 939?

The nF3 250 chipset will be used on both Socket 939 (Dual Channel) and Socket 754 (Single Channel) motherboards.

so what the 754 boards will never be dual channel? OR is that the 754 chips dont support dual channel so there is no use for a dual channel mb? for some reason i thought that the new 250 series would bring us 754 users dual channel? oh well gues not...

hurry up already mate...I want to see some benches

It's the chips themselves that only support Single Channel as the memory controller is situated on the chip itself... so it makes no difference what the board manufacturers release... we gotta wait for the 939 chips before we can have Dual Channel :(

Now, the question we all want to know the answer to: is there a PCI lock???

PRECISELY! However, this board probably only has a beta bios, and still needs a bit of work, so dont get ur hopes down if it dosnt have pci lock yet!

and sadly im hearing alot of people saying there gonna buy socket 754 setups... hopefully its not to late for them! will these boards require ecc reg ram? i wanna buy a 940 setup late next year...

No they dont need ECC ram. Same as NF3150 but locked busses and some more onboard    .

You dont want 940 though, you want 939 :D

I think they already said they wont need ECC. Would be dumb if they went that route agian.

So TinTin, did you give her hell already?
We're all dying for some benchmark results.

What were the max voltages? Vddr and Vcore?

Did you achieve that 32sec SuperPi on this very board??

I passed it to my friend because I don't have time to do benches with it, I'm sorry about that.

I would ask him to give me some benchmarks captures.

He told me that it can't work stably with 2 sticks of RAM after some slight overclocking, say just over 220HTT (Kingston HyperX PC3000 256M x 2), but the hypertransport can run much higher, at around 240*4 (His A64 3200+ sticked at such HTT, and use one stick RAM)

Those voltages seems to be the same as ZNF3-150.

I would ask him to send me some photos too for BIOS set up.

:)

PS: my benchmark 32s superpi is done with ZNF3-150

booooooooo. got all my hopes up with this thread :p:

Too bad man! :(

Thanx for the info anyway, i'm not sure if the higher HyperTransport link is gonna be all that, don't think the HTT on NF3 150 is a real bottleneck.
Since the memcontroller is integrated in the CPU, the HTT is much less important.

Same goes for PCIexpress for videocards (i know that was not on the board you had), personally i don't think AGP 8x isn't maxed out by todays videocards, not by a long shot.

Is your friend gonna do some benches with it?
