is this normal? i just noticed that there is a resistor soldered between two small mosfets under the dimm slots connecting them! its def hand soldered and kinda worries me...
and i just noticed that my waterblock and heatsink both dont fit on the board as it has a 90° turned socket, so the psu is in the way :X
not good :(

The new boards have the resistor between the mosfets..My old board(the died one) don´t have the resistor there..LanParty Rev B - Rev 2. The new is beter and it´s a LanParty Rev B - Rev A
This is the same for my board. I'm guessing its normal though.

The dfi infinity doesnt have the power and reset buttons on the pcb, only the lanparty revB does.

I think it's the right place to ask you this guys. I have a Lanparty B rev A , and have a problem with Vdimm. I cant go over 3.3v, Indeed, When I set it at 3.3v bios, I can measure it and see 3.3v until I go into windows, where it go back to 3.2v. I have done the vdimm mod, and it blocks to 3.3v, for exemple, i can have vdimm to 3.4 3.5 3.7 during the boot, when I am under windows, it go back to 3.3v :/
Moreover, I am blocked to 272 of fsb , giving my ram 3.1vddr or 3.3 doesnt help, and changing the timings , which are set to 11-3-2 cas 2 doesnt help too. My ram is winbond ch-5 ( corsair 3200LL rev 1.2 ) . I encounter the same wall on my abit nf7, same with a home made phase change on the nb. I have tested two pieces of bh5 in single channel ( one at a time ) on the dfi and one stops to 253 and the other 262, with 3.3vddr and previous timings. Do you think I am just hitting the maximum of my memory or there is something wrong ? I tested with default bios and 2-15 from tictac and it reboots always at 272. 272 for dual and single.

Your board sounds normal saaya. Sorry to hear about the physical problem with your blocks, though I'm sure you'll fix that.
Only the earliest Infinity's did NOT have the cap between those two mosfets. From what I've read at AMDMB DFI forum, the cap is to smooth out voltage fluctuations on the DIMM slots.
China or Taiwan, some would say Taiwan is best. I've had nearly identical results with one of each.
Luck! :toast:

If one of the beta bioses, make sure CPC is disabled too...

CPC off kills performance.. I used 1-31 and could do 270 max with cpc on. So it doesn't need to be off.
I think Saaya should flash another bios and see what happens :)

Nobody may answer my query ?

Eponyme-le - the Lan Party Rev A and Lan Party Rev B are different boards. The members of these forums have little, if any, experience with the Rev A board.
You might want to check the amdmb.com/DFI forum, they have a DFI representative there who might be able to help.
From what I know, the Rev A is unfortunately much more limiting in what you can do for O/C.

In fact I have a Lanparty B, but rev A, not A+, is it not the board which go higher ? I have the dual lan and the other stuff which I thinkis typical of the B board, but my pcb revision is A.

OK, my mistake, I thought you had the LP "A"
You're at 272 FSB? Wow, that's high for 3.2 Vdimm!
You'd be better off to start your own thread, put it in the AMD section of the forums. Too confusing here.

Yes I think too, ( about the confusion ). Just three words still :d , 272 is the highest I can achieve, but at this frequency it immediatly reboots , and I can same achieve this with 3.1vdimm, but 3.1 or 3.3 no differences :/ always reboots at 272, and same in single or dual, 18vdd or 1.9 . So I think there is a problem but where ??

my khx 3500 is bh5 and i tried maxing it out using the default bios and the lowest multi. 5x ...
i doubt that the board is maxing out at 5x230...
my infinity killed my gainward g4mx! the golden sample one that ran 400/700 out of the box! it died just like that.... rebooted and never posted again, thougt it was the board and was resetting the bios and trying everything else for an entire day when i finally thougt maybe its the videocard.
agp voltage was set to 1.5, system was running fine, only 2ghz, no big fsb, no high volts... did the 4mx just die like that or should i send my board back to the shop i bought it from and let them test it? i cant afford to lose my main videocard (9500@9700) !
