I got my 2.4c sold ...and will be gone tomoro if everything goes to plan. So im left with my P4P800 ...any suggestions on my next proc?

1. 2.8c M0
2. 3.0c M0
3. 3.2c
3. 2.8e
4. A64 3000+ & AN50R
5. A64 3200+ & AN50R
6. A64 & wait for new NF3 250 boards?

3.0e + 3.2e's arent avaible here for a while, so its gotta be one of these. I was really wanting a prescott at one point (hence i put my 2.4c up for sale), but not sure anymore, since i hear so much shiz about them. Shud i go A64 instead? My main preferences were 2.8e or 3.2c or A64. i want to make use of my prommie :)

Why did you sell your 2.4C? they are excellent CPU's! If you got like even a 2.8 M0, and if you did OC more its not really worth it imo. Im sticking with mine till something totally new comes out.

edit: oops forgot to say what CPU anyways. Id say stick with p4 for now, and get atleast the 3.0 M0

Get new D1 (AEP) stepping processor instead of M0 stepping.

You can find those new D1 stepping chips from:

SL78X = 2.6C
SL78Y = 2.8C
SL6WU (not all) / SL6WE / SL78Z = 3.0C
SL792 = 3.2C
SL793 = 3.4C

Those new D1 stepping seems to be generally better overclockers than M0 stepping. Seen alot of them doing 4GHz with Zalman or similar cooling.

Old D1 compared to D1 (AEP):

Old D1:

6 layer substrate
12 caps / 20 pads decoupling
3.46mm nominal Z height

D1 (AEP):

8 layer substrate
30 caps / 30 pads decoupling
3.75mm nominal Z height

Peen: im doing 3.0 atm with my prommie !!!!! ...if u think thats a good 2.4c then fine. I can hit 3.4 if i really try (not stable), but i've had it with this cpu, i can bench at 3.3 (which was optainable with my EXOS ...and probably with stock cooling).

cool stilt ...ill look into it. and c if i can find one. most likely to get the 2.8 version.

does no one like the prescott anymore? they are cheaper than northies for me ...and getting a 2.8e wud lose little money over my 2.4c (since i got a pimpin deal for my 2.4c) :D
