Im looking to use an oil filter as a phase separator in my autocascade. I was looking on the Temprite website and found something that might do the job;

http://www.temprite.com/main_catalog.asp?sitename=temprite&pagename=products&category=42

What I dont know is what the different terms used to describe the fittings mean, there are 3/8" ODS, 1/8" FTP and 1/4" SAE. Can anyone in the trade help?

The FTP is female pipe thread. The SAE is flare. ODS is outside diameter solder fitting.

So for a 3/8" OSD connection would a 3/8" pipe go inside or over the top, im guessing inside from what i have seen in the past. I think I will go for that type.

Yes, inside.
