Could some 1 help me with compressors power ratings ie: would i b able 2 use or would b advisable 2 use a 1/8hp compressor using R134a as a direct die cooling system for my CPU?

Ok given the fact that R134a is not a great refrigerant but it will do for the learning process/ side of things!

If so how do u know, if not y and what would b better?

I have two 1/8 hp compressors in a cascade system getting -104C and -80c loaded... IT should work fine for a single direct die system..

shot, just wasn't sure on how u decide the power disapation ability of a compressor et al system. How do i tell? So i've got a northwood which runs at 80W stock but will increase due 2 the increase in vCore how do i know that that compressor and refrigerant will handle it and still maintain good temps?

Perfect so now to pick up myself a bar fridge/freezer 2 mod. Should b a lot cheaper than getting a compressor etc. The nice thing about it is its small and compact!

ok check me here please:
1hp = 0.746kW
so a 1/8hp = 746/8W = 93W
Now that 93W will be used in compressing the refrigerant and some losses to friction el al. Now how do I transfer that to the amount of heat I can remove from my cpu? Given that the refrigerant is R134a.

The heat dissipating ability of your compressor is 1/8 of 12,000 btu appx. so in theroy the 1/8 hp compressor would pump 1500 btu/hr but due to ineffeciencies in the system the actual will be a lot less. So it isn't the actual HP of the compressor that determines the heat removal of the system. So you actually need to look up the compresor in question on the manafacturers website, what is the model number?

A 1 hp AC compressor will remove 12,000 btu if its eer is 10 then it will draw 1.2 kw. a hp is 746 watts so the motor is 62% effecient.

ah ok, I dont have the compressor model, I am just trying to understand how it all fits together before i get one since i will start doing things before i understand them and that wont work...lol!

ok so now how do i transfer that info to the refrigerant and than to the total heat removed?

Can anyone tell me more about the Genreal Electric MR18FB. I`ve done a Google search and it somes back with way too many Russian links that I can`t understand.

What I`d like to know is at a load of 150W what temps can I get out of this in a single cascade setup.

Chilly that`s damn impressive seing 1/8hp`s cost around $50 each here (secondhand).
