...As per topic!

How easy is it to dismantle the prommi head to the point where you can remove the existing captube, put in a new length, then put it all back together again (if it's possible to get it back together again!)?

And does anyone have any pix of the process?

We're looking like having to abandon extending the captube on my rig cos we can't find a 100% viable way to do it (yes, you were all right... lol)

Splicing cap tube with a short tube of 1/4" pipe crimped on the remainder area joins 2 cap tubes together very well. This pointed out to me by pc ice and I've found it works flawless. Just make sure there are no gaps for the filler fo flow into and crimped tightly and flatenning the rest of the 1/4" pipe. Just a bit of heat and just enough filler metal to cover up the edge and it should be easy. Or to be safe, you can braze "upside" down to ensure the filler metal doesnt go choke up the cap tube. After that I always put in a little bit of gas into the high side (If you have high side access) and see if the low side would rise after a short while. If it doesn't, that means that I had brazed the cap tube shut.
Much easier than removing head if cap tube was your only concern.
