killing explorer is a lot easier than u think... but it's kind of hard to take any screenshots then :) but doable...

Has anyone gotten 4500MB/s in Sandra yet?

Yeah. Many P4 users and some A64 owner :D ;)
What's worth it??? You can't even get 270 really 3dmark-stable at room temp. So it's of no practical use

u have SAE's barton oc for the a64 user's 3dmark compare... :D
I have a question, if I turn apic off wil I need to reinstall OS, just because of that, (not counting the possibility of subsequent corruption)? Is anything required, i.e., clear cmos or reset config. data?

First uninstall apic (acpi-uniproc-pc) in windows control panel/device manager... Turn it into Standard Pc or ACPI-PC... then quit windows and turn it off in bios. Restart windows and it should work if it did not corrupt anything ;) :D
thanks, I have different ram and cpu I'm working with/broiling, and may want to do a backup first.

Yeah. It's definately a good start :D
Back it all up. You could end up with an unusable windows due to hal.dll not being installed right...

Why did you hit your ram with such voltage-tortures ;) ?
Nice though
Here's one at 2499 = 263x9,5 APIC on, cpc and all other stuff enabled

253x10, everything on. Need more vDIMM or vDD before I get any higher, 255 is max Superpi FSB

Vdimm maybe, but vdd does nothing :(
Makes it even more unstable. Dunno why, I did the mod as described and know it's working.

Is that even with vdd set to 1.9v or lower? I might not bother in that case, I'm pretty sure it's the vDIMM rather than the vDD holding me back - these DFI NBs are wicked :D

Yeah. I set vdd at 1,9V in bios and adjusted the mod... finally to 2.2V. But it did not do it. I always had the impression those standard 1.9V are not enough but the mod did not help at all :(
And setting the max to around 2V at 1.9V did not help either.

That's kinda annoying, especially as the VDD mod is very near one of the mosfets that I'll be covering with a rather large heatsink, so I'd have to decide whether to do the mod or not before I sinked the board fully.
Thanks a lot for the info, I might see if the IC's legs are large enough that I can do the mod with microclips...

Do you mean it's the most you can get into windows with, or that there's some limit for everyone? I've never heard of such a thing...

Hello all, 1st post here, a few of my friends at PimpRig told me about your site, and have been surfing the Forums here for a bit, and stumbled on this thread...
So far Ive been able to benchmark and ORB a run at 262 BIOS, single channel, CPC off and APIC enabled.
DFI LAN PARTY Rev B
XP2500+ Mobile
GEIL PC4000 256MB
ANTEC TRUE CONTROL 550 WATT P/S
ATI 9600XT (Stock Settings)
Here is a link for my run at @264
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=7805108
http://forums.pimprig.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=11660
I have also made a succesfull run at 266, but I can't ORB it, I lose my internet connection. I have been throught the forums looking for a fix, but nothing I have tried has worked yet.
I have disabled the onboard LAN and added a NIC card, that wasn't any help.
The board is stock for now, better NB and SB cooling are probably the only cure for it (Ordering a Micro Cool NB cooling kit tommorow)
I am also about to get a newer hard Drive, is a Raptor a good choice for high FSB, or would I be better off with an old style IDE drive?
I am sure one is better than the other when it comes to OS corruption issues, but I have not come across it in any threads yet.
Anyways..You guys have some wicked hardware here, and awesome Forums!
