I'm having a problem with the prime blend test on my mobile 2500 and not sure what the deal is. With my old desktop barton, if prime failed it would ALWAYS stop and tell me there was an error. This is not the case with my mobile at 213 X 12. I ran prime on the small FFT test for a few hours with no errors. At this same speed, I switch to the blend test and here is what happens.

Test 1 4000 pass!
Test 2 4000 pass!
Test 3 4000 pass!
Test 1 800000 pass!
Test 2 800000 pass!
Test 3 800000 pass!
Test 1 560000 prime gets stuck!

I see temps dropping, but no errors are reported by prime and the test continues pushing only my memory indefinitely. After a few hours stuck on this test, I manually stopped prime and it reports running time and no errors. I tried this several times with different clocks, timings, and vcore and the blend test always gets stuck on this same spot 560000.

Any ideas what is causing it to freeze? I pumped vcore all the way to 1.925 attempting 2556 mhz and prime blend still gets stuck at this point . I re-installed prime and that didn't help. This is really making me :stick:

im getting similar prosb with my mobile, i think i will mod it to be a normal desktop barton (L5 bridges)

i cant use certain multis or they are unstable (9x 10x 10.5x and 12x so far)

Possibly it's not your CPU - maybe it's something else? Maybe PSU can't keep up, or the MOSFETS can't handle the load of the chip?

Weird nevertheless.

Had a similar problem with my mobile CPUs. Prime just stopped working, but was still being displayed as still running (status red) in the taskbar. When I moved the cursor over the icon, it diappeared because the whole program had crashed. Very strange!!! Everything else was OK, just prime didn't like to run properly.:stick:

:off:

I used to love Fates Warning! There were only a few people around that knew who they were but they had some decent music for that time frame. Nice handle!

Cool Jeff! I saw Fates Warning open up for Dream Theater and Queensryche last year. My favorite CD was No Exit. Dream Theater is coming back to Chicago March 19th and I have my ticket :toast:

Saaya, do you have a link to the L5 mod by chance? I tried 205 X 12.5 and prime blend hangs on 560000 again. Can't seem to get past that silly test.

Thanks Saaya, I've never cut bridges before what do you use a razor blade? Also, I was wondering if could report back after you try that to let me know if your CPU is overclocking higher, working properly, running prime clean, and the multipliers are still unlocked. I've never done any mods so I'm a little nervous ;)

hehe i was actually happy i found someone who could try this mod and see how it works so i dont risk anything :D

im not sure IF and when i will do it because unmounting and remounting my waterblock is really annoying (always hits the caps and i have to bend them a lot to get the waterblock on)

i dont think cutting the bridges will lock the cpus, they are either totally unlocked and you will be able to set any multi you want, or they ignore the bridges (except for the L5 bridges amd forgot to lock) and you will be able to chose any multi you want no matter what the multi bridges are set to.so in the worst case you would have to do a pinmod to get a certain multi... but thats very unlikely, they will remain unlocked.

locked chips that are tuned into mobiles remain locked, the only dference is that you can change the multi in windows (doesnt work on nf2 boards afaik) so unlocked chips will very likely remain unlocked as well...
