I need better cooling. I'm thinking about water cooling--but it might be a while until I can go with that option. So until then, does anyone know how an slk-900a with a tornado fan would compare with the dp-102 with, say, two smart case fan II's. see, I'm thinking the option to be able to put one fan on each side of the dp-102 might mean better cooling. and this aerocool dp-102 is a limited gold plated edition. would the gold plating increase heat dispertion? I hope someone can help me here. :D I did read a review on the regular edition of the aerocool--and with one smart case fan II I think it was comparable to the slk-900a--and I can't remember if the slk900a had a tornado or smart case fan II in the review, or if it even had either of the two... heh heh... I guess I need to take another look at it. but umm... anything anyone might know would help, thanks.

i'd go with the SLK. from the review i read, the V11 cools better than the Aerocool. it's also big and heavy, and it attaches to little plastic clips.

also, gold isn't a very good conductor of heat or electricity. the only reason it gets used on plugs and other connectors is because it doesn't corrode over time, so you can achieve a better connection.

I would stick with the SLK too..

Gold is still a good conductor of electricity (and heat really) as far as metals go. As stated, corrosion is why it is chosen over silver/copper, but it's really not that far behind them in terms of conductivity.

true, but why use gold as a HSF material if copper is cheaper, a better conductor and less malleable.
