yes, it is.
Get the IC7 / P4C800 or P4P800, all good choices.

I have a problem w/ abit, they have alot of issue, so i whould recommend the P4C800 or the P4P800. And i think you dont whant to Vmod on your work rig hey?
BTW: 100% M0;)

OK tnx for the confirmation :) Never owned a P4 before :stick:
I actually thinking of getting the IS7-E... as its cheap and seems to be an excellent board (even better if I modded it :))
It gives PAT at 5:4 also doesnt it?
the P4C800 is really nice, but just a bit too steep for me.

The AI7 gives PAT with 5:4, but you have to change the H/W Strap in the BIOS to 667 instead of 800.
Get the IC7, if you don't need all the extra's. It's cheap and fast. Youy'll have to buy a seperate NIC, as it doesn't have 1 onboard.
Check the refurb at newegg. Think that charlie just bought an IC7-G, refurb, for 79€.

Don't they have awful voltage fluctuations and problems with 5:4 (IC7)
I live in the UK (im gonna put that in my little bit now :)) so where can I get a cheap board from in the UK? Other than dabs... as I've heard bad things about them.

The IC7-MAX3 is an awesome board as well.
My $0.02...:)

The IC7 undervolts way less than the ASUS boards, which over- and undervolt a lot.
I don't have any problems running at higher FSB's and 5:4 on my IC7-G.

go away from the IS7-E - I have one, it cheap, but it doesnt OC well, at least mine only makes 238MHz FSB...
Ill change back (!) to P4C800 ;)

I've been comparing an IS7-E and IC7, mano-to-mano, at 300 fsb. The IS7 can run BH-5 at SR settings netting 3200 unbuffered at 3:2, DDR400! (partial PAT). The IC7 can't do this so unbuffered at AUTO is 3070 or so (at full PAT). I am getting the same or slightly higher 3DMark scores on the IS7, so the bandwidth is making up for the full PAT. I am seeing the Rev. 1.2 IS7s have better voltages and are a bit more stable than my Rev. 1.0 IC7. The IC7 is no slouch though, as I am doing 304 fsb right now, with just a bump on the AGP/PCI. Ran out of 3D apps to throw at it and SuperPI 16M stable too. If you can get a Rev. 1.1 it will be even better.

Abit is crap more often than not...see sig.
I would say that you should go for the IC7-MAX3, i have it...do i have problems with it? no, not at all! The board does undervolt, but not much. When i have it at 1,575v on the CPU, the minimum it sinks to is 1,55v...thats not bad at all compared to ASUS boards! If I use 1,6v it does 1,585v at minimum. The board will give you 3,2v on the ram with no vdimm mods (only the old max3's you had to do the vdimm mod on to get 3,2v to work). The most MAX3 boards ive seen lately does 300FSB++

P4C800 with Vdimm and droop mods
I've read lots of good overclocking stories about this board, even without the droop mod. I'm pretty sure I'll be using this board when I finally switch to a 200MHz fsb P4.

Whats my potential OC with this baby?

[Edit] I checked the bottom to compare to the 3.2EE, same arrangement of transistors (or whatever they are) So looks like an M0 :toast:

#16: What's your potential? Hard to say, but have a look here:

If the link doesn't work (never does?) go to the CPU database @:

Happy OC'ing and good luck :)

alot of you are saying get the ic7-max3 :\
but i think the overall vote goes to the asus. I might pick it up.
tho i liked the easyness of the 3.2vdimm on the abit ai7.

Don't bother with max 3 if you're going to get an abit. You're probably still going to end up wanting to do the memory voltage mod, and its easier to do on a plain ic7, or ic7-g so those would be the boards to go with on the abit side if you want pat.
