I'll get a Delta 120mm which is "only" 190CFM soon. I think it will be enough for me. :D

nah...................The one I linked to is dual rotored = much much higher static pressure :D It has counter rotating blades.

I think you can get one directly from delta, im not sure though.

well, let us know how it goes. hopefully delta doesn't charge a fortune.

That's insane... 260cfm :slobber:

I just replaced the tornado inside my computer with a nice panaflo 92mm. I'll never use a tornado again.

hmmz, I can fit 2 of those 17*15cm fans nicely at the top of my case :o
I'll check to see if they deliver in europe :D

What would be the best fan/heatsink for cooling a amd 64 regardless of sound????

I've got one of these sitting around, its pretty "quiet" and it hardly pushes any air... oh darn

:D

Quiksilver87, I'd go for the thermalright sp-98 or 97 with one of those tornado fans or something.

48db. Not bad at all. My SF2 at full speed is 48db or 40 something.

If you can get them running at 5V, maybe 7V, it's already a lot better :)
Just to give you a thought, I currently have my rig with 4 HD's (2*WD1200JB, 2* WD Raptor 36gb), slk-900 with enermax 92mm at full speed and a R9800se fitted with a Thermaltake DragonOrb 3 4900rpm, running in my room, with the sides removed...
Next to that is my brother's comp, which is to me completely inaudile :D

And yes, I do sleep next to that...
When lying in my bed, I guestimate it's still around 40dB loud...
Currently figuring out a way to get rid of that thermalcrap fan actually, the rest of the rig is rather silent, Antec PSU and some cheap casefans...

o ok...pretty nice...that explains it!!! what do your cpu and gpu run at??? When o/ced??

wimpie007
03-11-2004, 12:00 AM
cpu is a duron 1600@ 202*11.5 (1.88V)
gpu is powercolor R9800SE (core 380-mem 340)@(core400-mem360)
I don't have to push it, since it delivers enough power for my current games anyway :)
I know I can run it at 435 core - 395 mem without any artifacting

Hopefully tonight, I'll fix that dragonorb somehow ;)

That is so true...
I'm done throwing money out of the window by buying new parts for a while, although that xp-m is so damn tempting :D
I'll guess I'll save up for a prommy later on this year :)

Well, all the parts are plastic, but it does have 2 motors. Very powerfull ones I might add :D

My father has a fan like that lying around. :D
I can use it if I want to. It's not extremely powerful, but pretty big and moves lots of air.

He has a smaller, more normal fan too. Haven't testet it, but it looks pretty extreme.

My Volcano 12 over 3000 RPM makes me feel sick (verrry noisy). I don't even want to think about this ;)

"Quite nice" performance

ZMarre
04-06-2004, 12:52 PM
Lolz, I once voltmodded my Volcano 7, by bypassing the thermal resistor and adding the ful 12v.

And I can assure you, that's a bit louder than the Volcano 12 :p

Like delta's, but whitout the extreme crazy-driving whining sound (if it is said right, dunno ;))

Respect 4 all people who use that kind of fans (deltas etc.) :toast:

When I turn my V12 on 5000 RPM i can't focus on reading, surfing... ;)

This delta is amazing, sure that is going to destroy your ears but and if we reduce to 7V
take a look:

if - 220CFM - at - 12V, if we reduce the voltage to 7, how much is going to be the CFM.
220 - 12
x - 7
x=128 CFM

ok and know the dBA
59 - 12
x - 7
x=34 dBA

if this is right is going to be a very good fan to have running when you are not doing overclock or something that need full power.

see ya

I don't get your calculation for the moment (too early :D ) but you have to realise that CFM/dB isn't a lineair function, so a calculation like I think yours is, will be wrong.

Demon_Hunter
04-08-2004, 03:29 PM
oh if it ins't a linear function so it is wrong (I used rule of three)

I think he used a proportion, but still, it would not work, not linear.

Demon_Hunter
04-15-2004, 10:19 AM
Yep it is not a liner proportion but it shouldn't have a datasheet about the fan that give us the proportion or say how much noise it would make at 7volts ???

These are the ultimate air cooling. Vortex tubes. 1,000,000 rpm 150 scfm -50 deg, and very, VERY LOUD. Check it out: http://www.exair.com/vortextube/vt_page.htm
French discovery, improved by Germans. No moving parts, no water leaking, no refrigerant, just needs lots of air. Like 8 scfm at 80psi works, (barely), at cooling a cpu to about -30.:D
