I am running this on my is7 and running a 5:4 divider the ram will not go above 204mhz? I think i'm still in shock. running 2.7v into them. any ideas why they won't go higher? bum sticks?

1:1 they run at 450ddr but when i change the divider to 5:4 i only get 408ddr? they run fine without the divider.

Its your board, not the memory.
Are you running the latest BIOS?
Last 2 GAT settings disabled?

That is what i am learning. so you say that if i disable the last two options in gat that the problem will go away. And i just flashed to the latest bios with the same problems. I will try the gat thing now and get back to you shortly. thanks!

Non-Winbond?
The only other major ones are Hynix and Samsung, and they do the same thing with the dividers.

3200/3500 CH5, Samsung
3700-Up Hynix, Samsung
That is typical of most RAM today, with the first type being the most common.

OCZ3700 should work for you if you can't find BH5. They run very good 1:1 and will take a 5:4 divider on the max3. All at 2.8v.

ocz pc3700 rev2 is a good choice

so if i get my hands on some bh-5 i'll be able to run 5:4 ratio with no problems? if so i'm going to grab a pair. let me know...thanks

Yes BH5's play nicer with dividers than ch5 as well as you've got a much better shot at high 1:1 with tight timings given the proper voltage.

Are you sure you're testing 5:4 and not 4:5?
It would be logical if you are testing 4:5 that you can't get them higher than 408.

4:5 ratio is not available with 800fsb CPU.
Mushkin 3500 lvl2 runs great on the max3. matter fact, my first set was a 1GB set that did DDR480 on my 2.4c at 5:4 2-2-2-5 3.1v.
matter fact, thats the only set that would run 5:4 with stability on the max3. now the volt mod is on its way back soon, and we shall see if its a board, or memory issue.

i just picked a set of bh-5 up so we'll see how it does when it gets here. my is7 only does 2.8volts so it looks like i'll be doing the volt mod.

*update*
My bh-5 just arrived. Running 5:4 divder at 270fsb. ram is at 215mhz or ddr430. I'm very happy with the results! Once i get more then 2.8 volts to this bh-5 then we'll really see what they can do! thanks for all the help guys!
