What is up with the abit temp sensor, it is way off. is there a better monitoring software that will give better temp readings? or is just something with the abit board being stupid?:stick:

no its the abit board. and they are not "way off" they are just the proper temps but abit gets the temps from a different place on the chip than the "other" boards. it is annoying when trying to compare temps between people with different boards, but the temps are fine. they are just on the "higher" side than what your used to.

Abit says they represent the CORRECT temp as they read the data from the core itself and using an algorythm, put together a temperature they insist is the real correct temp.

They say ASUS and others use a probe that reads the external temp, which is usually 7c lower.

So, if you want to compare take your ABIT temp and deduct 5 to 10c. This will give you a temp simular to ASUS, or others.

Who knows for sure though.

could I get a probe and put it somewhere to get a more accurate temp reading? I think something is goofy with the temp reading, cause if I have watercooling and there is no fan on the fan plug, but if I put the power supply fan sensor wire on the cpu fan jack my temp reading go down a few degrees, take that wire off and put somewhere else it goes up a little? what gives?
