View Full Version : Clock generator ?

This might be a little technical but I have a Tyan 2668 Dual Xeon Mb that I got on the cheap and put some 2.4 Xeon's @533 in. Tyan obviously isn't going for the enthusiast so there are no oc'ing options in the bios at all.

Does anyone know a program that will tell me or have an idea of what the clock generator (pll) is for the intel 7505 chipset (IE: ICS952607 ?).

I'd like to use set-fsb to pump up the FSB for a little OC action (I've heard that some people with the Asus PC-DL are getting around 3 GHz with these processors) for some benchies.

TIA

Tom

Edit- PLEASE no responses about "why would I want to do that" or that Xeon's aren't an oc processor and stability issues, etc. I know all that. It's just for personal satisfaction.

Thanks again.

I had a brain cramp. I'll just pull out the board this week and LOOK on the chip !

I have a clockgen question...

What cpu info programs show the affect of clockgen and setfsb? What I am asking is after i use clockgen, can any program like cpuz or wcpuid show the new speeds?

btw I am using a 4pca3+ rev2.x atm if that makes a difference.

Yes, you can watch it change in real time.

cpu-z didn't show any changes on my 4pca3+. I wonder if it was actually changing...

make sure you hit set value after moving slider, otherwise CPU-Z wont show any change..
