got my vapo 404a, (used to belong to toofast) on my 9800pro, had it running fine for a while, now it seems to be playing up.

the lcd says -47c and the head ices up when off the card,

when i put the card on, good contact-footprint with as5, and power off the card goes cold, really cold.

but as soon as i turn the pc the card gets hot, and locks in a bench, with the lcd still reading -47c or about that, anyone got any ideas what it may be?
maybe the compressor, but then why would it still get down to
-50 c or more when off of the card..
any help appreciated..

well do you have the card volt modded.?

for one a 9800 is hot.i have that problem when i am pushing the limit of the card.i will get a hard lock..back down 5mhz on the core clock..that will normally do it...and also run one bench at a time...let set 3 minutes between runs.

no v mods,
card would normally go 536/396 with the vapo on,
but this locks now at stock v's and settings..sat here now at -47c, out of pc, with the card on it.. card cold, guess i'll try again with the pc on..

What is the position of the head vs the compressor how you currently have it hooked up? Head must be below the compressor for it to work.... and even then it won't work particularly well. Ideally you need the rig running flat on a desk so head is horizontal rather than vertical, or you need to flip-mount your mobo so that the GPU points upwards then mount the vapo above the mobo going down to the GPU.

As someone else on here once said not too long ago, imagine the vap head as a cup. If it's upside down, alll the liquid will go straight in and straight out without touching the bottom of the cup, thus never cooling the gpu.

i see what you mean, but it's run fine like that before. for the last 6 months or so.
head is below the compressor..
