Conscript

I have a eVGA GeForce4 MX440 128MB AGP 8x
stock clockspeeds 275/400mhz
overclocked speeds 356/550mhz no artifacts.
i put on ram sinks and i lapped the GPU until it started to turn silver again and put on a 60x60mm heatink and a 3200rpm fan.Its nice and cool now:D
I was wondering If any of you guys know a vmod for this thing...I've looked around and some guy named crazyXP1700 has the same card... and we are both looking for some help with this because it seems it isnt the stock design... eVga changed some stuff..If anyone can help i would be very thankful
Late mates:toast:

there`a the link to the vmod ... did it ... killed my card
good luck

Conscript, what is written on the chip on the back of the video card shown in the pictures with VR drawn to it? Really need that info to provide any help.

the chip says
NpN34AM
LM324M
im not 100% on that because it's crazy small...
he has the same card as i do... ive talked to him on AOL

I found LM324M on the internet. It is an "OP AMP" and not really a voltage regulator, although maybe it can be used as a VR (I'm not sure).
Are there any other chips on the video card which might be the VR?

there are, but i can't make out any writing on it...
my camera sucks and i cant take close up pictures...
i'll try later when i shut it down for the night
theres also another picture on my site... it's to the left of the cooler... its the very last picture... it says vcc chip? has 8 pins... i heard that the mx440s used ones like that but their normally on the back side of the card

yeah i still cant make anything out on it...
it has 8 connections on it... 4 on each side... close to the core
it's the last picture on my website...
any ideas?

Without any information on the 8-pin chip, I don't have any idea what it might be.
As for the other chip (on the back of the card), you could try installing a VR as shown in the picture and see if it works. Measure the resistance between pins 6&7 while your computer is turned off. Then install a VR set at 20 times that resistance value. Then slowly decrease the VR resistance and see if your GPU voltage increases or not. WARNING, this could destroy your video card if these are the wrong pins!!!!
If you can measure the voltage on the + leg of each of the capacitors (I usually measure from the back side of the video card where the capacitor leg sticks thru the card), one of them will be your GPU voltage (probably about 1.5-1.7 volts) and one of them will be your memory voltage (probably about 2.5-2.8 volts).

well i got some information for ya... what i did was took some AS3 and put it on the top of the chip to fill in the little holes where the letters were it says
(the 8 pin near the core)
Y25F05
032647
I Also have on the back of the card,
NPM34AM
LM324N
also have
NIKO
P3055LD
GA3 C77
some of them may not be 100% correct maybe change a couple letters with similar shaped ones... it's crazy small
anything guys?
What about my 4MX pixelview ? Ihave 8 pin chip like this :
I0R 250M
1I2D
F 7313
25P10AV
ST9245V
witch IC should I use For VGPU (Pin 3==VR==Pin6) and VMem (Pin3==VR==Pin6) ?
Please help me....

edward... i got some info on the un readable chip... can ya tell me what it is?
Edit: i also lapped my GPU even further and am getting 394mhz core lobby high stable, which it usually crashes on

CrazyXP1700, I did some looking at the chips you listed but I do not have any answers. Here is what I found out, and none of them appear to be the voltage regulator chip.
Y25F05 = some sort of EPROM memory chip
P3055LD = some sort of Transitor chip
LM324N = some sort of quad OP-AMP chip
I do not recognize any of these type chips as voltage regulators. Maybe someone else knows more about them. Sorry.
Good job though on lapping the GPU.

Hey thanks anyways man!
im just going to put a ton of cpu power behind it and hope i get some more 3dmarks outta it... going for some top marks outta this thing
6623 outta it...
extra 200 3dmarks just outta the card
benched at around 375mhz... fried my benching drive afterwards, but am getting 402mhz artifact free should still finish 3dmark
