Hi all,

I just got a CPU upgrade and went from a Athlon XP 2000+ to a Athlon XP 2600+ Barton my mobo etc is in my sig.

When i booted in the bios stats befor it went to windows loading said it was a Athlon XP 1800+ but its a 2600+ ??

That says its a Barton and from what the following link says there is no 1800+ Barton.

Set FSB at 166

Set the FSB to 166 and it now reads as a 2400+ and as far as i know there is now 2400+ Barton.

Slayer,
Try updating your bios. With my Abit KD7 it would not read my barton cored 2600+.

What did the core say? Did it say it was a 2600?

I'll bet the bios is outdated.

Updated the bios and it fixed it shows as 2600+ on default 100Mhz, so just updated then changed the FSB to 166.

Seems like your bios is guessing by multipliers and bus anyways. It doesnt matter. 1800+ barton? nope.
