what multi are you trying to get?

you might be changing it too much and its not holding.

does your board unlock tbreds? not sure if kt400 board do that.

you might have to connect two pins to unlock the chip.

Before I bought this one I had tbred-b 1800+ and I was able to change multi.
Are you sure that my cpu is unlocked?

I'll buy abit nf7-s maybe it's solves the problem..
And I heard the locked bartons are good overclockers but they got some fsb sense or something like that is it true??

ps: I also do the pin-mod here http://www.ocinside.de/go_e.html?/html/workshop/pinmod/amd_pinmod.html to the socket
and got nothing:(

its one of the early super locked chips then, i heard there were some of those chps on the market before 38 already... yu just had bad luck, a nf7-s wont help you, chip is super locked.... yu can only try to cut the L5 bridges to make it a mobile and then change the multi in windows

well u said u were going to get an nf7-s just to change multi, so if u really wanna change multi, get a mobile 2600+

all (well 99%) of the chips after week 38 ,and some even before that date, are locked in a way that its impossible to unlock them. you can only mod the cpu to be recognized as a mobile cpu and then you can change multis from windows.

The pin-mod here http://www.ocinside.de/go_e.html?/html/workshop/pinmod/amd_pinmod.html is useful?

Why wouldn't his board be able to change the multi on a Tbred/barton cpu? My KT133A (wich doesn't officially support tbred) can do it. Tbred cpus arn't locked either. He has not a chip with an multi over 12.5x so he doesn't has to connect the fifth L3 bridge to gain access to change multi (for only 4bit FID multiplyer controll)

He just has a hardlocked one as you say later in this thread.
