Hey everyone, as you can see I am new to these forums and new to overclocking all round.

I am wondering how far I can push my 2.4B on air with stock HSF.
I have 512MB of PC2100. I was wondering if it would be possible to run 18 * 166 and up my ram to 333 Mhz. What kind of core voltage would it require to do this.

Thanks for your help

Matt

Aight, well your chip should be good for at least 2.7ghz, maybe 3ghz+, but that memory will hold ya back a lot. Also what mobo? You can try 166fsb, and it may or may not need a volt increase, but if it does need one, 1.6v shouldnt cause any probs. And give your ddr the max your mobo will give it :D It won't hurt it.

Most 2.4b's are good overclockers...some aren't. Mine can get to 170MHz fsb at stock voltage on air. Like twilius said, that memory of yours will hold back your OC a lot. You might consider upgrading to PC3200 or even PC3500. If you do stick with the PC2100, you'll have to relax the timings A LOT :D
