what should my next cpu be?

I just read from a thread about these barton mobile cpu's that some people are getting 2700mhz out of... and, I've been out of the forum for a while. birthday's coming up next month, and I'm thinking about a new cpu... what's oc'ing good these days?

i'd say go with the Mobile Barton as well.

i've been considering it, basically getting the last gasp of performance out of my Motherboard and RAM before i upgrade it all.

Sorry to throw a brick in the thread, but a mobile barton? Laptop chips can be put into desktop systems? If so, I didnt know that. Can someone confirm that for me? Thanks

Confirmed. There are a lot of threads on this right here on the very first page of the amd forum.... I count six with it explicity in the title. XP-M is another way its denoted.
