View Full Version : is this a good HS/F
I was just wandering if upgrading to an SLK-947 would be a good idea.
I currently use a Dr.Thermal w/ 80mm Tornado at full speed.
I get about 52c load with a TbredB 10.5x229@1.95Vcore. Room temp is about 75-80F.
Buff
get the 900U its older yes BUT if you go and check out a few reviews comparing the two youl find out the 900U was still better! i use the 900U on an oced 2500 barton at 2530mhz 460 fsb and my temps stay around 42c load not bad for air so id give the thermalrite a thumbs up!

the 947 and 900 are basically the same except the 947 is a tad wider and has a tad more fins
hmm, will have to check on that one then.......
so far my Dr.Therm as done well for an $8 heatsink and $15 dollar fan:D

yes you are right but if you go check a few reviews youl see that the 900U beat the 947U in all the tests for some reason the new one did worse? true story ;)

yeah sorry if i sounded a little snappy lol... i live in brisbane australia where its been above 35 degrees celcius for the last 2 weeks, an overclockers nightmare.
My BH-5 is Buffalo, not available any more.....
so I guess I can get a 10c drop with an SLK900/947
cool

ahhh no big deal around here people ask what the room temp is and all that so... anyways this slk900U well suite anyone with a hot room! i would easly say that this sink is the best out there as far as air cooling goes. i just bought the new amd 64 chip and it was a tray unit instead of a retail and i hadnt realized what i had done to my self until a few mins ago when i sat down to put the system together and figured out i never bought a sink for the system! so know i have to wait till some time during the week for one of them slk 948U to show up
oh well all good things come to all that wait i gues uh?
