Boyz, I notice a very strange thing.....
My Mushkin LEvel II PC3200 Hisses!
Expecially when I push it at high frequency like 230MHz or more!
I Hear this strange noise :confused:when I launch the Benchmark! Expecially with memtest or AQUAMARK.....
What does this mean???
Anyone hear this little sound from memory?

Mine goes vroom vrrooooooooom vrrrrrooooooooooooooooooommmm vrooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooommm
Actually, are you absolutely positive that you have isolated the noise to the memory?
My old Corsair does the same thing when I'm benching. Although mines not really a hiss... but more like... well... I dunno. You can tell it's a "data-type" noise though. ;)
How many sticks ya got? can u try just 1 stick at a time to find out which one?

:D :D :D :D
YEs I'm Sure, I turn off all the System FAN for a few minutes, to hear better..... The noise change when I raise frequency.....
I never hear this strange sound from a Memory, so I wan't be sure my RAM will not going to Broke.....:D

I have 2x256 Stick
Installing a single stick cause a noise reduction, but I Can hear it. All the two memory modules make the some Noise level.....

It's much more likely that one of the many capacitors around the CPU socket or memory slots makes the noise. I can't imagine RAM making noises. Although, one can never know :D

Mine does it too, but ONLY in 3DMark03.
I thought it was my video card...
I like the way it sounds. ;) My system really makes it during PiFast.

I think it is an Capacitor, can make this noise when Charged/Discharged.
But today I run Memtest86 and I notice that my system was not perfetcly stable.
My RAM start to go in error after 3-4 Hours, and always at 0.3-0.5Mb Address, I try MEMTEST86 at only 215FSB, and I have the some error I get at 242FSB. (Timings is 2-2-2)
My Mushkin RAM is not the "Special Edition" PC3200, and I must have Winbond BH-5 Chip. It is very very strange, BH-5 Must be ROCK SOLID at 215MHz with 2.85V!!!!! May my RAM is broken??

or maybe the motherboard... especially if the problem occurs regardless of memory speed... can you try 240FSB on a divider and see if that works?

BH-5 needs high voltage (3v+) to perform well.
Gerforce4Ti4200: I really wouldnt call that an upgrade. :stick:

Eshbach may be right, may be the motherboard.
Last night I run Memtest with a single stick of Mushkin RAM, setting 236MHz 2-2-2 with 3.05V, and I have no error for 8Hours!!!!
I Only Have to try the other Stick!
