I have no way of seeing these in person so Im kind of stuck between these three. 95% of the time it will be used for gaming or movies.... I do all my office work on the other system. So... which would you get?

I would probably go with the Hitachi also. I didn't see the warranty info for any of them?
I would really make an effort to actually see them if at all possible. Stop at a couple of different stores, maybe call around to see who has them and go look at them and play with the adjustments.
I rarely buy a monitor without actually looking at it first...as a matter of fact I NEVER have. ;)

Sadly Ive gone as far as Monroeville but couldnt find anything but low end CRTs... mostly all 17". Im going to have to buy without eyes on this time. Now if it was LCD it would be a different story.

The warranty for Viewsonic is 3 years, Hitachi is 5 years. Im thinking Hitachi is they way Im going to go.

I recently bought a 19" Envision from Staples for $180. It has one of the best pictures I have ever seen on a monitor. I forget the exact specs but DP is between 20-25. I can look it up for you....or drop by and check it out some time. It has a 5 year warranty also.;)
We had a different model Hitachi at work that we ended up replacing by the hundreds..literally....it was all warranty work so we didn't get screwed other than down time for endusers.

OMG THANKS FOR 5YR WARRANTY INFO. i have that monitor, f*cking POS it is. died on me the other night basically, i'm on it now, but barely. no matter what the picture is ultra fubar. the higher the refresh rate, the worse. its only 1 year old. what its doing is the picture is extremely stretched left and right, and extremely pincuated, a good 3 inches on both sides are off the screen, its so annoying, dont even want to think about trying to game on it. just got an RMA number on it. god this is gonna suck on shipping...............:frag: :upset: :flame: :soap: :cussing: :grr: :grr: :grr: :grr: :wierd: :dammit:

what makes me hate it most is constantly having to readjust it, most mintors, once adjusted for that refresh rate, they stay, but nooo, not this one, on cold, its out of adjustment slightly, but once it warms up it goes to where you have it adjusted, fitting to the screen correctly. bad deal comes in when temps are different, and you have to readjust it again, soooo annoying. even my 6 year old 15" compaq monitor never has to be adjusted.

You must have gotten a bum one. Mine has no problems at all and is the best money I ever spent on a monitor. I am running 12 monitors 24/7. I have none of the problems you mentioned. I'm using it right now and love it! ;)

What's the model number on yours?

I had a Hitachi CM715 19" monitor for over 3 years and loved it. It was a great, sharp and pretty display. I sold it to a friend for $150.00.

Simply because I wanted something bigger, I upgraded to a NEC/Mitsubishi 22" (20" viewable) FE2111SB. This NEC is simply outstanding...HUGE picture...stupid-fast refresh rates all the way up to 1600x1200 (85Hz) and just wonderful color reproduction. I'm the last review for it on newegg as well.

Hey, one of the best deals I ever got on a monitor was about 5 years ago and I still run the monitor. It's a 19" CyberVision C92 model.
I have looked all over for another one, same brand with no luck, Has anyone had one or seen one? This 5 yr old monitor will do 150 refresh and is hell on games. I think I paid about $230 five years ago.
