Hello there.

I have a sapphire 9700pro(rev 1.0 I belive) and I've done the "standard" Vmod for the Gpu on this. Pin 20 and 18 with a 10K pot.

The problem is that I can't get more than 1.8 volts on the gpu. Atleast not under load. And that's when it mathers. I can set it to 2 volts and even more, but under load it drops to 1.8 Volts.

So, a to make a short story even shorter. Is there an other mod than can give me stabil volts over 1.8?

If your sig is correct on the PS used then that is a big big problem. Amazed it even runs at all.

So the problem I would say is not the mod and it's location, but your PS:D

I think its a joke.

Like a 4.86 @ 3.4
A tnt pro @ 9700P
...etc

Clearly that Sig confused some people :toast:

Soooo. What would happen if I took the 3.3 line straight in on the Core? Well. With a diode (?) that cuts it to 2 volts? Could it work. Or am I wandering of to loony land.

A cap mod stabilized things for me on a couple of 9500's. Basically doubled the capacity of the cap circuts by soldering duplicates onto the other side of the pcb where the legs are exposed.

Other than that, with the rails you have(if we can trust your sig now;) ), it should not be a problem. Maybe the card has a dead or dying regulator, or the mod is not making perfect contact at both solder points.

Hmm. Soldering in some caps sounds like a little bit to much work for me. I ain't that good at soldering.
Rasing the 5 Volt Rail did help a bit (1.81 at the lowest now), and I don't think any regualtors are dead/dying since I've had this from the very first test after the Vmod. A little annoying, think I could get to atleast 480 if I just could give it 1.9. Og well, Guess I just have to get i cooler. I'll try reconnecting the Gpu mod once I do the Vref mod.

Thanks for the help http://www.home.no/veritassen/Ting%20til%20bruk%20p%e5%20forum/beer.gif
