I just got a Maze4-1 TEC setup for my 9800p. How do I distinguish which side of the peltier is hot or cold?
Also, how can I fit the power lines for the pelt to a molex connector like the Swiftech one?
thanks

what i did was installed the tec and then tested it out in the open. it should get cold pretty quick. you dont have to turn it on for more than a 30 seconds before you can tell if you have it on correct.
if you want a molex type connection for it just grab an old fan or cable that has a molex on it and cut it
then solder the wires together and your set. you only need the yellow wire (12v) and the black for ground. the red wire and other ground wire can be discarded. good luck :)

The safe way to test a tec for hot/cold side, is use a typical AA battery (those are 1.5v) and hold the red against positive terminal and black against negative terminal.
Even with that little bit of juice you will be able to tell very quickly (few seconds tops) which is the cold side. I wouldnt put alot of voltage through a tec that isnt being cooled...you will kill it that way.
A good way to make it so you can plug into a psu is exactlly as he said above. Find an old molex connector and solder it to the tec wires. Be sure you have the polarity correct.

Ok, I just finished soldering on a 10k VR to my 9800 pro using MickeyMouse's voltage mod guide at madshrimps. I bought a multimeter today at Frys and was wondering how I work this thing. The instructions just confused me more.
Does the card have to be plugged in and powered on to test the voltage?
edit: another thing, the wires coming out of the tec are black and red, do I plug the red into a red wire from the molex or a yellow wire from the molex?

the card does not have to be plugged in, got that part figured out. How do I test the voltage on the core? I held the ground part of the mm to a ground point on the 9800p and the red wire, the + wire, to the "voltage read point" listed in MickeyMouse's guide, but nothing happens on the screen of the multimeter.
I have the dial on the pot turned clockwise. to add volts I just turn it counterclockwise right, lowering the resistance.
