Hi m8's...
I was wondering...wich are the sequence of the tests that u use in 3dmark 2k1 and 2k3????
I'm asking that cuzz if i do some tests first i will get some very nice fps at the end of that test but if i do it in other sequence it will be much worse...
Do u run low's first, high's later, pixel ,shaders and all those tests and then nature at the end???
Or other sequence????
Car, drago, lobby or other?
I just want to get the max of my rig...lobby and car are making me get hungry LOL...btw anyone with 9800xt's noticed that the gpu mod fluctuates ...i could say a lot...or is just my card????

the natural order of 3dmark is usually quite close to the best. and the best order is something that differs from computer to computer, its all trial and error, oh and btw, do not run pixel/shader tests, the only tests necessary to generate a 3dmark score are the game tests. ie.. car, dragothic, lobby and nature, actually u can make a score without nature but it will be crap:)

lol :P g4 mx's dont even support nature :( i believe its because it uses pixel shaders and point sprites.

gf4mx are no directX 9 cards. Thats the reason.

3dmark01se isnt a dx9 benchmark. i know what im talking about here... its because the mx's dont support pixel shaders and point sprites, which are required to run that test, the g4 mx's are basically dx7 cards.

I know that 3dmark01se isn't a dx9 benchmark, but VoRtAn_MaDgE wrote 2k1 and 2k3. :)

I know 3dmark2k1 gives a result without the tests of shaders, vertex's and nature, but if u do all tests the score will be higher...
I'm asking for the sequence cuzz in my case i raise 500marks in 2k1 changing the normal sequence for one i choose...low's, high's, pixel's and vertex's then nature at the end...
But if i change the order of the first one's, i could have tests better then others, that's why a ask for the sequence u use m8's.
Thks:)

No the reason the GF4 MX cannot run Nature is because it only supports DirectX 7. The pixel shaders used in Nature are run from DX8.1.
And VoRtAn_MaDgE, running the shader/eye candy tests do "nothing" for your score.

oh ok, you've now confirmed that for me soul, thankyou :) i wasnt quite sure... its quite dodgy of nvidia to only give there g4 mx's dx7 support, the low end ati cards released then had dx8 support...

running all the tests does NOT make the score higher, the only tests that affect ure score in anyway are the game tests(car, drag, lobby and nature if ure card supports it).. kapish?
look at the top of the orb, do u see anyone doing anything but the game tests? NO, thats cos they are useless to ure score. end of story

Sorry my mistake you're right i said that cuzz i leave nature to the end and before that i use to make the rest (vertex, pixel) and the score was lower, but that's cuzz i didn't make nature at the time LOL....
U didn't answer me yet guys...is there anyone here that use to make 3dmark with other sequences????

lol so all u would be doing is heating ur vga up a little before running nature  (yes i know you give it time to cool down, but still.)

Yep u're right.
I will try some benchs when i have time to make a score between 24k and 25k;) !

haha nice cooling on that video card :) i wanna work on a cpu heatsink for my video card, might get an old slk-600 for the job with a tornado. what do u guys think? its 430g, might be a little heavy for a permanent setup, but i could make it smaller.

Yeah it's a nice idea...the cooler on that vga is p4 stock cooler but i have to cut it to fit in the holes:D ...if i had my old swiftech MCX4000:rolleyes: ...but i don't:( .
If u put it smaller u shouldn't have any kind of problem...

I cant belive I cant figure this out .............How do you change the sequence of the tests?
VoRtAn_MaDgE

Cowpuppy...do this way:
When u enter 3dmark at left side says..."Selected Tests".
Hit change then will appear the test with boxes to mark and unmark...
If u desire u can even separate the low's from the high's;)
Go to custom on the top and choose the one's u want...
After running one test u go again to selected tests and choose another...
Keep going this way until make all low's high's and nature...
Then u will have your final score...
btw don't get surprised if u do the low's and the high's and without running nature 3dmark gives u a result...don't get afraid...that is not your final result...run nature and then there he is...your final score!
Sorry for my english, rusty indeed...
Hope i helped;)
