Hi all....
Just wondering if it can be done, like take some bga mem and resolder them on to a tsop grafic card ?. i know that it can not be done directly, but with some tweaking and stuff perhaps ? memory is build the same "table vise" right ?....

Re-soldering BGA by itself is extremely difficult. Soldering it onto a different pcb seat would complicate that even more.

but why is it impossible ?, would like some explaning please....
isnt the table structure the same ?, so if one where to map the pins on both modules one could connect the right pins on the chip with the ones on the pcb ?

edit: typo...

I just dont think you would be able to get it working... the physical difficulty of the soldering involved (even if you made a PCB to go inbetween) would be very tough.
You would also end up adding a significant ammount of extra traces... such capacitance may make the memory stop working... or at least screw up.
Practically its impossible IMHO... although it may work in theory.
Please proove me wrong id love to see it done.

well, i wil give it a go i think, but i need to find a board that has TSOP on it, since i allready have some 2.8ns BGA available and i dont wanna destroy my g4 on it... but it should work, i will make a module to solder on the TSOP thats transform it to a BGA instead, you know a push in mudule like the ones that hold the bios chip... ust need to figure out which pins go where though and that could prove to be a :banana::banana::banana::banana:....
