View Full Version : Gettin more vdimm without mod on asus p4c800 e deluxe???
Hey guys. I'll have my stuff in a couple days and one of the things im worried about is not having enough volts to go through the ram. The asus p4c800-e deluxe has a max of 2.85v i believe. I dont wanna mod it. But ive heard somethin about raising the 3.3v line on the psu. Ive got an antec truepower 550w which has a panel with it to allow adjustments of the 3.3, 5 and 12v line.
So what will i get out of the ram if i raise the 3.3v. And whats the highest line i can achieve without shortin somethin out.

You will get 2.85V out of it if you dont do the Vdimm mod.
What if you raise the 3.3v line on the psu?

nothing... thats only after the vdimm mod if you want to go higher than 3.3v on mem

His point is that rasing the 3.3v rail will do nothing unless you do the vdimm mod. Only raise the 3.3v rail enough to allow proper headroom for your desired vdimm.

it'll stay at 2.85V
you need to do the vdimm mod to get higher, but it'll only get to around 3.08-3.1 if you have exactly 3.3V. to get more, you need to then raise 3.3V
Yea moddin the board physically is something i cant do. I'll have a play about and see what it does anyway. Maybe im better off finding some ram that does high fsbs at low volts. Or gettin another board?

Its one of the easier mods too.....
lol I guess im jus not one of those people. I'll wait till i get the bored. Test it and see how everything goes. If i feel im being held back by the voltage then i'll find out how to do the mod properly.
