I was planning on going dual Xeon but am having a hard time selecting a mainboard that has overcloking options. Was wondering if anyone here knows anything on this motherboard.

This is an asus board......not intel. Thier website states that it does gave ocing ablity. Wanted to know what kind of options or maybe a linky to a review? I couldnt find much on it. Sorry for not stating it was an asus.

Sorry title of the thread said Intel...

Do you have a link?

Also I read once that Xeons are downward unlocked? If this is true you could make them run at 200fsb instead of 133...

No 1 on PCMark 2004 is a PC-DL and is the only board I know which has oc options for xeon.

Overclocked a little (165fsb)

Gandelf <- No3 on orb due to lack of oc options.

Wish I could get more info on this board. Rreally leaning towards Xeons after the prescot dilema.

Also, looks like you dont have to run ECC memory on this board?

Dual 3.06 Xeons clocked to 3.5 would be sick....I might just ry it!

I always liked that board, offers the power of dual Xeons while still retaining the desktop performance and flexability of canterwood.

I would seriously consider it if two xeons weren't so expensive

and if a P4 with hyperthreading wasn't almost nearly as good

Xeons have went down considerably but still priced higher clock for clock than the Northy's. But the 3.06 xeon does come with 1mb cache. Kinda like the prescott but not bogged by the heat and or piplelines. A happy medium if you will, better than prescot but not as good as the extreme edition but at hlaf the price of the extreme. This board is looking better and better and price at only $200.
