What I need to find out is this... I need to find out what kind of PLL chip is in the I845GE laptop motherboard in my Dell Inspiron 1100... It has a 2.4"A" proc in it with a D1 stepping and I have this feeling that if I can use SoftFSB to up the FSB to 533 itll run 3.2ghz @ stock voltage...

Does anybody have an I845GE mobo laying around, or access to pictures or anything that would give me an idea what brand PLL chips to try in SoftFSB?

Any help is greatly appreciated...

why would the heat rise so much with stock voltage... I plan to open the thing up and lap the surface of both the P4 heatspreader and the laptop heatpipe too but... if itll run 3.2 @ stock voltage why would the heat be that much more...

higher clock.. you can test this on your normal rig.. do a low speed and test temps.. then goto max speed at the same voltage and check teh temps.. they will be higher.
