im looking at this heatsink cause its the only decent one that will fit on my mobo... is it a good choice or should I look elsewhere?

the following post is assuming that the motherboard you are using is the one listed in your sig.
with a heatsink with that much weight, i'd much rather have something that used the mounting holes instead of the plastic clips.
that being said, i've got the same motherboard and a SLK900u, and it's a great HSF, and also fits just fine. the older Alpha PAL8045 fits too.

i've used the slk900a with no problem, the weight doesnt seem to bother me. It's easier than using the slk-900u if you plan to take your heatsink off a lot for some odd reason :p:
ive owned this heatsink and it is great, there is also the sp-97. the slk-900u is useful is you should switch to an intel setup, and if this is the case, the slk series can snap onto intel boards with 2 clips, less than 10 seconds to install
