I was getting ready to do the VDDQ mod on my R97P, and when removing the small aluminum plate that covers the mem volt regulator the IC itself came together with it.

I've unsoldered the legs - that stayed in place:p: - and now I wanna get a new IC and revive my beloved card.:)

Anyone know of a good online store that sould have it?:D The IC is IRU3037A. Could someone confirm this, please.

Yeap, the 8rda has it. Thing is, I don't have any around. :( and don't know anybody that does. :(

maybe you could look up the manufacturer and request a sample?

I found a dead 9500. But there's one lil problem, I guess. the 9500 uses the ISL6522 chip and the 9700 uses the IRU3730A.

See pic below. Yellow IRU... and blue ISL.... Am I gonna have any issue if I solder the ISL6522 here?

Guess I'll have to find out by myself.

I have a dead 8RDA here that I been practicing soldering on forever.

what part do you need?
I'll chop it off and send it to you.
just circle it on a picture of the board, and I'll hack it off and send it over to you :)

Nice work, how's it running?

Running nice! I did the vddq and vref and so far with 3.0v Vddq, 3.1v VDD and 1.55v Vref, my mem is 371, but I didn't have time to test it good. Before after +-357 I'd get artifacts.:)

If I pump it up I may get to 380+.

Can anyone confirm that those other black IC's under the plate are also 3037A chip's ? I have a similar problem with a 9700 pro and need confirmation that the other three chips under that plate are also 3037A IC's.

Nope they are not.

Any idea on the part number or what exactly they are ? I have three of them and they are unmarked or if they are marked they are unreadable. Wonder if I could salvage them off of something. I need two of them for my 9700pro, I have a 9800pro but it would be nice to revive my 9700 rather than it being a paperweight.

I know the on the bottom are 6898A (http://www.fairchildsemi.com/ds/FD%2FFDS6898A.pdf).

The other one I found nothing on the net. Sorry! Your best bet is buying a dead 9700.

Thanks for your help man, much appreciated. Yay if I can find a dead one on the net, I have looked before with no luck. Will see if I can't find out what them other chips are.

there are four chips... take a look

http://www.speakeasy.net/~michasmisiek/R9800P/chips.jpg

like malves said, two of them are 6898A, third is 3037A and fourth is some unidetified one... on my now dead R9800P this chip sits also around ISL6522CB chip used for vdd mod...
