After I vmod my Radeon 9800 Pro, I wanna replace the cooler.
I've been thinking of an old AMD heatsink, and then replace the fan. Will this work?

paired with this fan

What do you say? Will it keep the vmodded GPU cool?

Also should I take the shim off the gpu?

it should as long as you dont go crazy on the voltage

That combination will work great!
I have an AMD cooler too and i think it's the best air solution.

I had the shim left on at the beginning, but had it removed and it performs a lot better now so i suggest to remove it.

Will a ALX-800 (400grams) be to heavy for a 9800 Pro?

I just got 491 with vgpu 1.88
There's room for more, but i'm considering placing my vapo on it.
