Bought yesterday another P4C800E Deluxe since mine died from condensation and it was a Revision 2 as well...

The boards were both Rev 2 however the first one had a sticker on writing Rev 2 and the other one with rev 2 printed on the PCB...Both bought from different retailers in the UK

I am wondering if there are any differences between them...The obvious ones are the capacitors on top of the socket which have a different colour and prolly manufacturer?
The lever from the cpu socket is metal instead of plastic as well.
The backplate of the cpu mounting fan bracket has different design as well...Any other differences you can spot or know of?

Pics of the front from the old one-Dead :p

And from the new one

This time i used some spray( PCB Lacquer) and used loads on the back of the board...+used a piece of mousepad neoprene on the mach 2 backplate...Better be on the safe side this time...

I HOPE...

I feel that the one with the sticker between the PCI slots is newer. I had both boards, and the one that had that sticker was flashed with BIOS 13, and the one that was printed between the PCI slots was flashed with BIOS 11.

the new one has an additional capacitor on the right of the pci slots.

Any idea what's its for?

capacitors are like voltage buffers, could mean a better oc but not necessarily. more caps doesnt mean a higher oc, it changes the voltage balance of the board wich can be good and bad.

hope it does better at 5:4 this time:D

There is an extra cap between AGP and PCI too.
Id say that the one w/ sticker is older version. It seems to have the same green Vcore caps I have on my old P4C800.
Both seem to OC about the same.

Me too...Gonna try my OCZ sticks again in the next few days.

It was a shame watching my sticks max @ 255fsb 1:1 @ 2 2 2 5 etc and 5/4 280fsb my rig just couldnt load windows :(....

Indeed ;)

yeah i thought the old one prolly had something like rev 1.smthng on it and they stuck the sticker on etc...whereas the new one has rev 2 already printed in the PCB.Bought the first one(dead) quite a few months back as well...

My P4C800-E Deluxe is Rev 2.00 and has sticker and one additional capacitors around PCI slots. The backplate is the same as brwmogazos's old. ;)

My board couldnt do 5/4 as high as 1:1...well not even close...and from what bigtoe?IIRC says its board related issues...so i hope he meant that specific board, not the model :p

I have tested many boards with the same ram..some work better 5:4 so work better 1:1, some work better 3:2.I have 2 P4P800D's and they both do differently 5:4 with the same dimms...so for me its board issue(build issue) rather than a ram issue

Will have to check myself bigtoe mate :)

Havent got the time at the mo but i will...

Hope this new board does better 5/4 since the ram is shinning @ 1:1 :)

Ive been running the new Rev2 like in the second pic from the top.

It overvolts like mad when modded. very stable board at high speed. maxed out at 301Mhz FSB

one of them has a metal lever on the cpu slot, the other is plastic, plastic handle = higher oc

hmmm I was always told the diff between rev 1.XX and rev 2 was just a different supplier for parts. Seems though that is wrong even between 2 diff rev 2 since there is the extra capacitors.

Guess I can't complain though as my rev 1 P4C800-E is a decent oc'er. Makes it up to 310 at 5:4 with my ocz plat le at 2-3-2-6 3.25v. I think it is my cpu that is maxed though at that fsb not the ram.

Just to add a bit more confusion, my Rev 2 has the sticker just like the first picture, but has the layout and components of the second picture, with a metal socket lever, and the same rear mounting plate as the first :D
