View Full Version : Recommend a good soldering iron
I'm about to do a vmod on my 9800 Pro and my DFI LP NFII B.
Could you please recommend a good soldering iron (LINKS are appreciated :))?
Could someone please make a checklist, for what I need to buy for vmodding my video- and motherboard (again links are appreciated :)).
Thanks

We hada big thread on soldering a whyle aggo.
Might help to do a search
Personally Id recomend a 25watt antex with a thin flat tip.
Yeah, I did a search, but the ones mentionend are quite expensive. I'm looking for a cheap, but still respectable soldering iron. Can you recommend such a soldering iron?
7 buck 40 watt one from radioshack
What should I use for soldering the wires on to the pins?
Right. Thanks.
What about wire? Some UL or something?

for wire you want 30awg multicore copper wire.
Is it neccessary with a anti static wrist band, when you messing with your rig?
Here's the list:
30-Gauge Wire for Wrapping-White http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F011%5F010%5F003%5F000&product%5Fid=278%2D502
2 X 10KW 0.75W 15-Turn PC-Mount Trimmer http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&product%5Fid=271-343
But need to find some 200K VR for the vdimm mod and vcore mod on DFI LP B. I can use the same wire for vdimm and vcore right?
