I want to oc my shuttle AN50R/A64 3400 on aircooling but don´t know which cooler is best for A64?

I don´t think the boxed cooler will be that great, or is it?

slk948U with 92mm medium speed fan or alpha pal8150 with a high flow fan. both will give good results. i've used both. i prefer the slk since the 92mm fan is quieter than the 80mm tornado. :D

i use an slk-948u / 80mm panaflo u1a combo. i do get strange bootup issues because the mobo doesn't read the cpu fan sensor (some panaflos lack it) and it attempts to power down but then powers back up. i may switch to a 70mm tmd, we'll see.

Do not buy the thermaltake Venus 12. Its rather p00.

i'd go with the SLK948u, due to the fact that you can use a higher flow 92mm fan than the Alpha.

i have the slk948u and i use an 80mm vantec tornado but i get very high temps. i also have 6 thermaltake smart case fan2 @4800 rpm. 4intake and 2 exhaust. my idle is 38 degrees celsius and 47 degrees load and this is at stock fsb. What am i doing wrong.

When i open a window then it drops to 29 degrees idle and 38 load. But i don't want to open my window all the time because its cold where i live. i have an amd64 3400+ and asusk8v. AS5 with a very thin layer. Can anyone help me?

darkclone13, you may get more help by posting a new thread. i'll give you what help i can.

tell us what your case temp is along with the temp of your CPU. if you've got airflow problems, you may want to switch one of your Smart fans to exaust.

try reseating your HSF. if the bottom is rough or has any scratches, you may want to lap it.

thats all i can think of at the moment, but you may get more help if you post a new thread.
