been at it for the last 12 hrs trying to get 20k... yeah i know 20k.whatever... anyways.. so far ive been just trying to tweak windows and play with settings in my BIOS... no volt mods so far, since im a little shy of vr's and the whole setting voltage twice in windows for the fx.. :D

anyways, so far ive done the following....:

windows 2000 SP4, shut down SFC, change paging, shut down accessory networking, switching to 44.03 drivers, no background programs running, disabling my network...

BIOS changes: tried running the newer 1/31 bios but its really agressive.. oddly enough its faster... i got my best run at 11-3-3-3-2-13-15 CPC ON at 3.3vdimm... my chipset was at 1.9v, AGP 1.8v, vcore 2.00 with my 2500 at 10x140...please kep in mind that i cannot change the CAS rate on this Mushkin RAM.. I can only run CAS 2, anything else is a no POST, but i can change everything else...

rivatuner is at LOD=10, nforce 2 compatibility mode, v-sych auto for D3D, and auto off for Open GL... my card is at 480/936...

thats about all i think is really relavant...im so tired... LOL

can anyone give me an idea on how to vmod my FX without using VR's? :stick: im not interested in finding the total max volts it can take but maybe a bit more than default voltage will let me get my core and memory where they should be...

Thanks- Matt :toast: :stick:

we need more info.

inparticular a 3dmark link.
we can see more in the plain numbers, then a hardware listing ;)

i believe running in compatibility mode is only for trouble shooting and affects performance in a bad way...

also put 3dmark on high priority in the processes list. That may net u some gains if u havent already.

You seem to be falling 1000 points short of my score:

You see, putting XtremeSystems.org 3Dteam in the project name really helps. :D

This was all aircooled, so 20K on your setup is very doable, as you can see my car chase low was even bugged.
Just try to cranck up your total CPU Mhz a bit.

I,m sure 2,5 GHz will bring you 20K. ;)

I need a timeout here, could you tell me what you mean by bugged... (I know you mean like an anomaly right?)

bugged as in too good?

How can you tell if something is bugged?

thanks Zeus... my prommie is finally on its way so gettin my Mhz up shouldn't be a problem.. im probably going to go back to my Albatron now, since I found out that the Prommie doesnt need four holes as i had originally thought.. ill just need to do a vdimm, vcore, and chipset voltage mod... i just think itsa better board, since my 2003 score is 7 months old....lol

No, not as in too good but rather as in bad. :(

If you run car chase low detail 10x you'll see 10 different score's.
These score's can differ as much as 10fps or even more, so i mean i could have gotten some better score if i had closed 3d mark, reboot and re-run once again.

So it's not like the nature bug for instance where scores become higher as they actually should be.

Thanks for enlightening me... :D

Yeah I have a very limited experience with 3dmarking but I've noticed that the scores for car low are pretty random and erratic to say the least... :(

use directx 8.1 instead of 9.. that will nab you a few points. Running the tests in your own order could also help, as some will withstand higher clocks, not to mention you could let your stuff cool down some in between.
