Ive noticed like when rebuilding my friends systems or mine doing diff things sometimes even when everything hooked up right and lights on and jumpers right that when u press the power button nothing happens. Can anyone explain this to me? I can usually get it working after turning off and on the psu and hitting button a couple of times but i dont understand why a system would do this. Thx

Double check the polarity of the power supply switch for starters and ensure the correct wire is on the correct pin on the motherboard.

White wire is negative.:)

they are always correct. Like ive gone broken the system down and everything then rebuilt it back up taking EXTREME time and it wont boot unless i like plug and unplug from back of pc stuff like that. It's happened on like 3 diff systems. All with completely diff specs.

Could be a problem with your power outlet or the power in your house if it happed to three different systems...

Happens with this computer. Not sure why at all. I think it started happening after I did a 12 volt adjustment mod. I have my computer plugged into a 1400va APC ups, but I'm pretty sure it does that even when plugged into the wall. Wish I knew why

hmm, try jumpering the power switches on the mobo, then try things, I dont really know what to do (as i have never encountered the problem) but that will allow you to see changes in realtime. Also, give us specs of ur "three" diff systems. Im very interested to know what they all include.

mine is p4 2.6 abit ic7 with 1024 pc3200 and radeon 9700 pro in an old alienware case from my previous comp. Next one is one of my friends who has 2.4c with abit ic7 max 3, 512 of corsair pc3200 and a 9800 pro all in a xaser 3 case. Third is an amd 1700+ with an nforce 2 mobo and 512 of pc2700 ram, a geforce fx 5200 and in a chieftec case. Had similar prob when i worked in a comp dept with other comps. Ranging from hp's to dells and everything in between. I tried using jumpers those dont work either. It's just like it has power but doesnt. It's weird. ud have to have had it happen to u to understand.

the power grid in your area may be unstable.
