Abit NF7-S ... Zalman CNPS7000 anyone have this combo??

...acording to the zalman site the cooler won't fit a NF7, I ordered before I researched though and have one in the mail.

Many have tried, and were successful ;)

The only thing you have to sacrifice, is the compatibility with Athlon 64 CPUs, because you have to cut away a piece of the retention mechanism on the side that faces the NF7's capacitors next to the CPU socket.

That's all! It fits very well after that little mod and cools even better. So, no biggie! ;):toast:

yep .. works a treat

just finished modding one for my box today.

previously i was running a Coolmaster X-Dream and under full load (f@h for few hrs) my xp2100 @ 2.1ghz would heat bout 60 degrees.

now with the zalman 7000al-cu on, it has barely gotten over 53 degrees :)
