I got to change my enermax since i started having problems with half the molex connectors on it. I would like to know what do you guys think about this Aopen PSU, and is it as i think it is a Forton PSU.

also is PFC a big deal and should i look into a PSU with it or not
thanks
ps: opinions on their 400w PSUs would be welcome also :)

That PSU is great. PFC is nice to keep your rails exactly where you want, and the fortronn 530 has tons of room to adjust.
It's probably the second or third best psu out, and definatly the best bang/buck.
I have a 350watt sparkle that is a rebadged fortron, and it runs whatever I throw at it.

Don'y buy anything from Aopen! Especially not a PSU.
PSUs from best to not as good:
PC Power & Cooling
Zalman and Antec
Sparkle

You say that out of experience?
Or because you want it to be that way?
I have read some about FSP psu tonight and most ppl seem to like them.

the Aopen PSU looks like a rebadged Fortron/Sparkle. it is surely using a Fortron/Sparkle part number.

PC Power & Cooling
Sparkle
Fortron/Sparkle used to make the lower wattage PSUs for PCP&C, and they may still. i haven't really been keeping up on those things.

I own Zalman and Antec PSU's, you can't go wrong with them.
Never owned an Aopen - so can't say.

I'm sure Dud3 means well, but his reasoning is suspect.
After all, Fortron makes Sparkle and AOpen PSUs (and some PC Power & Cooling ones).
I haven had problem with Fortron PSUs for years. Very high quality, always above their rated specs in output power and relatively good efficiency. Only Seasonic makes more efficient PSUs, afaik.
However, it's most likely true that PC Power & Cooling high end PSUs are hard to beat. People who use them swear by them.
I just personally tried a 480W Tagan and it failed to produce even specified output power. This PSU and all Be Quiet (both blackline and colorline) PSUs are made by Topower. I wouldn't recommend them for HC overclocking as they seem to have some quality control issues, like my unit (and several others at spcr forums) did.
