How should I go about getting them fixed? I hear motherboardrepair.com does it. But has anyone tried them and/or have any feedback? Anything would be appreciated. thanks.:(

[edit]

blah didnt c that p4c :D

it all depends on what pin you broke.

deres a pdf datasheet somewhere tat tells u what each pin does...

jus hope its not somethin' important like data or somethin'...

if iz a ground u should b all set as it has more than one ground.

try it in a mobo n pray u dont fry the board as well

i dunno if it works, can it get damaged if i run it minus two pins? What is the worst that could happen cuz I cant RMA it now. But I am still looking for a solution, till I post here saying the problem is solved, it isnt solved.

I Broke a pin off a 2.0a, ran fine, Sold it in a customers rig over a year ago and havnt seen it back yet. Give it a shot what's the worse that can happen like you said. Broke already.

hmm, well i was kind of literally asking the question, "what's the worst that could happen?" Ill try it tommorrow if noone thinks it can be worse off.

you could fry your motherboard, killing it, your cpu, ram, graphics card, which could cause your psu to freak out, killing what's left of your hardware...
By the freaking psu, you blow your fuses, the house burns down and you're homeless...

How's that for a worst case scenario? :D
Just test it ;)

If the pins are non-essential (no connect pins) then there should be no problems if it breaks off. If it's a vital pin (data), the chip just won't work, or it'll work badly.

Pull up the datasheet and find out what the damaged pin does and go from there.:)

I believe SilverSinkSam knows of a place that can solder the pins back on if the CPU no longer works due to the broken pins are critical data paths. Try PMing him for the information as a last resort.
