rig is in sig,

dx9.0(non-a/b)
cat 3.7s(ati)
card clock - 411core/361mem

I get,

18139 3dmark points, this seems a bit low?

ram timings @ 2-3-3-8

everything else @ stock.

What is your FSB? Memory unbuffered, etc?

That score is about right.

Start -> Run -> msconfig, select diagnostic startup, and reboot. Open 3dm01 and ctrl+alt+del and set its priority to realtime.

After that, run each test individually. I do Drago low - Car low - drago high - lobby low - lobby high - car high - nature. It's really preference but this order works the best for me. Just make sure you run them one at a time and let your rig cool off for a minute or two between each test. That would get you close to 20k without any cpu o/c.

ok i'll do that, as i said phoebox everything is at stock settings.

Also do u think I should flash my gcard to the PRO bios?

I followed your guidelines and was spurred on today to get 20K by a fellow colleague at another forum.

I managed to get 19393 without overclocking my CPU. That was @ 435core/361mem (MAX speeds)

I did a mild overclock to 2.1GHZ on the CPU and then managed to get.

20237, now I'm SURE i could get more than this as my nature/lobby/car chase fps was going down slightly by this time (an hour of extensive 3dmarking) but I settled at this for today.

I was using dx9b and cat 4.1 - any recommendations for me to get 21K with? Perhaps different cats and just dx8.1?

My colleagues score was 20028 using an ASUS K8V and 9800PRO @ 405core/355mem.

His score shud be better than man due to his mobo being better yes? (obviously my gcard clocks are better)

I wanna flash my BIOS to a PRO one, what are the chances of it going wrong? and if it does, can I flash back? How can I backup the current bios?

Thanks :)

That's a pretty nice improvement, I'm sure theres some room left in it still too...

Good work though!

Win2K + 8.1 + 3.2 should be worth 800 points or so over WinXP + 9.0b + 4.1.

 Shame on you! :p:

You could gain up to 500 Points using Win2K on an AMD system, maybe another 50-150 points using DX8.1 and another 200 points using the Cat 3.1, 3.2 or 3.7.

why does Win2k give more points?
