Just look at these beauties!

http://laik.modlabs.net/coolasalways/nitromemory/modules1.jpg
http://laik.modlabs.net/coolasalways/nitromemory/modules2.jpg
And thats how these work. 3,4 ghz (12x290). Works as 292 also but not really stable... Feeding em 3,2 Volts.

A nice alternative for my BH-5 winbond original working at 240-2-5-2-2. The speed is just the same but 1:1 rules :)

BTW, i have 2 sets. 2x256 and 2x512. And they both work at 290 at the same timings! Never seen 2 different sets work so similar!

now only if i could get an amd up to that speed :o

what's the realworld diff. between 290 3-4-4-5 and 240 2-2-2-5 in your case?

you have 3dmark scores to compare?
would the 1:1 be that much better, if at all?

how much are they? much cheaper than corsair/ocz/hyperx/geil 4xxx I presume

Wow. Very nice. :slobber:

I can't wait for memory like that with tighter timings.

La1kr0diZ
01-27-2004, 05:22 PM
dont have a decent vidcard rite now to test in 3dmark :(
According to tests 3,4@290-3-4-4-5-(1:1) works a bit faster then 3,6@300-2-5--2-2-(3:2)

sinn
01-27-2004, 05:33 PM
yea those timings are quite relaxed, it would seem like you would do better with a lower fsb and tighter timings

01-27-2004, 05:35 PM
whoa!!! take the heatspreaders off!!

La1kr0diZ
01-27-2004, 05:35 PM
I`ll try both variants on a 4,2 ghz EE and R9800XT in some days. Thats the way to choose.

Craig
01-27-2004, 05:36 PM
But if you run the BH5 at 5:4?

La1kr0diZ
01-27-2004, 05:37 PM
Oh, i meant 5:4 of course. CPU at 300 FSB, mem at 240

La1kr0diZ
01-27-2004, 05:39 PM
Ok, i`m going to flash a P4C bios to my P4P now so if i dont come back and answer, dont worry ;) I just may have killed a mobo and cannot respond.

Tony
01-27-2004, 05:56 PM
you need to flash the p4p8x bios including the bootstrap then flash the p4p800D bios without the bootstrap update..this will give you full PAT and 1:1 overclocking only.

the P4C bios is NOT the way to go...

skate2snow
01-27-2004, 06:01 PM
Oh man BigToe!!!!!!!!! I know you know alot of BIOS but you know way more then i was thinking, just that lost me...LOL.

http://www.abxzone.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=51548

Thats a guide i wrote about this..read the whole thread if you are thinking of doing it.

It makes the p4p800 faster than an 875 board but you need to have a good one with a good NB chipset

La1kr0diZ
01-27-2004, 06:30 PM
I`m back with a P4C bios flashed like told in this thread: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24739&perpage=60&highlight=news%20flash&pagenumber=2

No noticeable speed boosts but the mobo says its p4c now.

Bigtoe, tell me more about your method.

La1kr0diZ
01-27-2004, 06:33 PM
My p4p worked at 340 fsb on 8x multiplier so i think it will do...

La1kr0diZ
01-27-2004, 06:38 PM
what if i flash the p4x bios boot block forst and then flash the p4c bios instead of the p4p one?

Tony
01-27-2004, 06:47 PM
just read that thread i linked to...it shows the 533 strap being set.Only issue is 1:1 only

Drisler
01-27-2004, 06:50 PM
Whoah..Very Nice.

OT: What XP theme is that?

La1kr0diZ
01-27-2004, 06:54 PM
In this thread the guy named Radeolon shows an alternative method. It seems to work better. Or i`m wrong?

Tony
01-27-2004, 06:58 PM
Just 2 of my greatest achievements...turning the P4S333 into a p4s533 and flashing the p4p800 into a canterwood killer....got my @$$ slapped of asus for both..LOL

I did that mod months ago BTW.

Radelons method works the same...i just enter dos, flash the p4p8x bios with the bootstrap then flash the p4p800 bios straight over now without even rebooting.Works good every time ;)

I showed the ultra safe method for those who are unsure.

La1kr0diZ
01-27-2004, 07:01 PM
I wanna try flashing p4p8x bios bootstrap and then flash p4c one on top of it. That should be fun

Tony
01-27-2004, 07:03 PM
I remember trying that..made no difference really.you need the 533 strap which the p4p8x bios gives...thats what gives the speed...

La1kr0diZ
01-27-2004, 07:05 PM
oki doki, going for the p4p8x bios now and back if the mobo doesn`t die.

those BH5? http://www.maxvla.com/smiley/brow.gif

link to more info would be appreciated. nm. found them at newegg. not bad for the price if they are consistent with your findings. whats the max cas2 you can run them?

Tony
01-27-2004, 08:28 PM
They will be Hynix D43 Ic's

La1kr0diZ
01-27-2004, 08:35 PM
Still cant believe i did this on a 3,4 ghz cpu. The max we could do on BH5 was 6900 on 4,15 ghz P4EE.... and now 6800 on a simple 3,2@3,4...

La1kr0diZ
01-27-2004, 08:39 PM

My BH5 are winbond original. Bought them long ago for 25$ each.
Maximum they ran a 248-2-5-2-2 but that was not very stable...

Where did you buy the simpletech stuff from?

La1kr0diZ
01-27-2004, 08:50 PM
Thats 2 samples sent to Ukraine by simpletech. I got them for testing but i`m sure i`m not gonna give these beauties back :)

Here you can buy a 512 mb kit - http://www.simpletech.com/upgNav/ws_ctb.php?partNumber=SNX4000C3K/512

And here is a 1gb pack - http://www.simpletech.com/redirect.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.simpletech.com%2 FupgNav%2Fws_ctb.php%3FpartNumber%3DSNX4000C3K/1GB

Damn... you can set your watch to those timings... Hey look! He has DDR2! CL3!

Sorry... it's just too tempting to ball on memory at 290mhz with less bandwidth than memory at 250mhz. Get them to 333mhz and we won't need DDR2!

La1kr0diZ
01-27-2004, 09:11 PM
These will need 4volts for that i guess :)
I`m not throwing away BH5. Theyre just for different conditions and CPUs.

I see there is PC4000 simle tech on newegg, But awful expensive $85 for a 256 stick.
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=20-150-328&catalog=147&manufactory=BROWSE&depa=1

My question is are these pc3200's you bought or pc4000's, My geil 4200 will do 295 fsb 1:1 for cheaper.

But that is nice for a brand no one ever thinks of!!!

cpuz shows it to be 3200 but that could mean anything..

the 3200 on newegg for 512mb is 105ish.. pretty reasonable i'd say if it performs like this.

Reports as 3200 but im going by The original posters link to this above in Post #7 on this page which he says is PC4000, Im not going by CPU-z

I dont see the big deal about SimpleTech, they seem to be very overpriced for very loose timings.

I would prefer BH-5's myself just my opinion tho, not meant to offend any :toast:

My BH's give out @ 1:1 262 fsb 2-2-2-6. Ive cranked my geil 4200's up to 295fsb 1:1 on a 2.6, but the cpu gave out.

I guess this post is about a off brand doing so good.

Dude... That's horrible. 5.8gb/sec at 270mhz? You can get more than that at 220mhz. What'd you do wrong?

agree with that IMHO... that's why I'm looking for some BH 5/6 to swap them for my 300FSB 2,5 4 4 6 Hynix mem

Is that SimpleTech using Hynix chips? Pop the heatspreader so you can find out ;) - free memory no? The heatspreader most likely does more harm then good.

Sorry, I have to but* in here. I've been visiting here for a while, I just saw something that actually made me register and post : La1trOdiZ, I clicked on the link to you're 3dmark2001 score. Let me get this right....you actually re-soldered bga ram from a fx5600 onto you're 9500?? You must be very dedicated to you're overclocking! How much of a speed increase did you get from that?
On another note, do you think it would be possible to re-solder 256mb of 2.2, 2.5 or 2.8 ns bga ram ram from a vid card onto a Kingmax tiny-bga ram stick?

Anyway, nice OC's...just had to say something.

Welcome as a posting member. Even if you made it work the memory used on Vid cards is very high latency.

DrJay, Welcone to Xtreme!

BTW this thing was Xtreme mod of the previous year :) We had a whole thread on this... Just use search. Yes it is possible to resolder almost anything and yes i`m very much dedicated to oc ;)
And finally FX5600 is crap and R9500NP rocks, so what the hell :)

Yes, re-soldering is possible, but videomemory works on very bad timings comparing to system ram. So it will be pointless...

Yep, 285-290 1:1 rocks in PCMark (just beat the Mem Score WR on that Simpletech stuff - 18743 for now) and Sandra (7190 292 1:1). But in 3DMark nothing is better than my ol' good BH-5 HyperX running 246 5:4 2-5-2-2... :D

Hmm, you are right... Maybe it's time for Laik to start benching. AFAIK, his card is now dead for the fifth...sixth...seventh...i dunno... time and he's repairing it. He finished DIY phase-change, so probably 25k on R9500 is his next aim...
As for standard chips - Laik's default 3.6 InFERion were awful, 620 max with v/mods... So there was no choice for him, only transplantation... :)

Simpletech Nitro memory Rocks! 290 Mhz 1:1!

at 2.5-3-3 ? :/ ...thats not bad, but wouldnt really say it rules...

hell, even my twinmos 3700 i bought almost 9 months ago does 270 2.5-3-3 with 3.4v...
