Im getting about 5 per hour!! Every time i check into outlook. Norton is catching them all so far though.
Im getting them from everywhere. And with website names on the end. Kinda like one's i would open.
So im assuming it's jacking outlook and using the contacts to send mail, then changing the user name.
I make my living fixing computers, So even though viruses are bad. I like the one's that really screw them up!!!!:D

getting them for days now...
I like having my own mail server... with updated anti-virus software. ;)
I haven't had one make it to me or more importantly, my wife.

Spotted this one on MSFN this morning, been safe so far, but keeping an eye out for the little blighter.
yea got one.. thru a internal mailing list... even had the header right like
[group] blabla some title that made sense
message content kinda the line jbell gave up there.. attachment: a 22.5k file named body.zip. the mention of 22.5k up there did really make my decision.. could very well have been a legit file send by some guy of my crew - but too many coincidences.. don't believe in that so i killed it..
i'm using netscape btw, but thanks to jbell for the heads up
that's about the stuff i want to get returning from a party slightly loaded .. f*** em! ;)
/edited loaded typos

I tell everybody; you want me to look at your attachment?, send me an e-mail saying you are sending it, and what it is.
Otherwise, I delete.

Thats not necessary, to activate the virus one would have to open the file Joe. The window pane cannot open the file itself ;)
yea disabling that quick preview isn't necessary for this virus, but there's others.. nasty script stuff that would jump at you without you knowing it - so disabling the preview is the clever part - or not using outlook or getting a real good anti-virus kit or all of the above

Haven't got a single one, running eudora tho...Can't believe people still using outlook after all the viruses that's been deployed troughouh the years...
Bah, dont use virusproggys and i never get any viruses.
1. I just plain dont open ANY attachments in emails that has english topic/text and i wasnt expecting a email reply.
2. Show the hidden extensions in windows and dont open exe's etc
3. Eudora.
Need i say more ? ;)

My Dad opened an attatchment the other day & he got a virus - I should check to see if this is it. He is probably going to have to reformat.

Thank you very much!
Welcome to XtremeSystems!
Have never gotten a virus. Not a one. But then again, I dont use outlook or any other sort of mail prog. I use yahoo. Plain and simple.
Wish more places trusted it as a basic email server. So many dont like it. oh well....
It seems like so many people need this patch that its slow to donwload so Ive attached it here for anyone that needs it.
You'll need a ZIP Program to unzip the file.

I have only had one so far and that was on my Xtreme account. I used to collect them at work because I had 10,000 users sending them to me. I had quite a little zoo for a while. :D

it is necessary as many viruses can activate by the features within the preview pane... as being facilities manage and IT director for a bank I can not tell you the number of computers messed up from having preview pane open...
