I'm trying to install the SP-97 on my DFI Lan party Rev B, and i'm curious why i have to use this cumbersome, resister bending Xplate. Why cant i just hold the standoffs in place with a few nuts on the back side of the board? Wont this aid in not putting too much pressure on the resistors directly under the processor area? Does it really make that much of a difference as long as their all high quality nutz with adequate washers to hold the weight of the heatsink? Am i stupid for asking this? :p
I already cracked a resister on my last effort to make this board work with the SP-97 and i dont want to go through this again or aggrivate newegg with my RMAous maximous habits. Please someone shed some light on this. Thanks
