Maybe you should wait a bit for the Thermalright SP-98? Or the SLK-948?

Well, at 55dB for the big fan at full speed, you're pretty much guuaranteed that it'll be heard! :stick:

Dude the TT Ram coolers are CRAP !
I got them for my server ram 2x 256 Kinston PC2700...
First off they never fit .. I looked on the instructions and it said it was meant for SD PC133 anyways I modded it so it did fit, then the cooling was very poor I mean they did pretty much nothing.
IMO Get some ram like Corsair or Mushkin that have cooling on them stock, the TT coolers are a waste of money.
Also I would get a panaflow fan ( If you dont want noise ) or a Tornado (If noise isnt a issue )
agreed on the TT ram coolers ...i just chopped the fan off them after a week or so.

the 948 looks very nice. the slk-947u and 92mm tornado on the computer i built for my friends keeps temps awesome at 200x11 1.75 volts. under 40c all day long.
55dB is too much.. hehe :p:

no ordinary fan controller will tame that fan.
the nexus are rated at 15-18 watts per channel, and the sunbeam's are rated at 20 watts per channel. that 260cfm fan you chose is nearly 23 watts.
i have a comair rotron that uses a bit more than that, so, when you find a suitable controller for your monster fan, i'd like to know what, where, and how much, as i need one for my big fan. ;)
this is the one they attempt to sell you with that fan you chose: http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/frozencpu/ele-50.html
it's actually rated at 15 watts, and they obviously tested it with that fan, since they claim it was tested on a 23watt fan, but that's way over it's rated wattage, and possibly dangerous. now, my comair rotron "major" is 27 watts, so, even more so, i wouldn't want to try that on my rig.;)

actually im gonna give up on this, my dad just gave me an oppurtunity to paint a house we are selling, and he will get me about $800 overall.. so i think im gonna opt for a dual phase change system, since my budget grew a little ;D

Dammit!!!! I want a dad like yours! I would get about £20 for painting a house :( (yes, my dad is cheap, thats why i dont do stuff like that and also why all my pc parts are extreme budget :P)
