omg help. I think I borked my system

Guys!!! AHHHHH

I just opened up my machine to vacuum/dust it out. IT sure looks nice and purty all cleaned up.

I even made some custom filters for the fans using a Downy fabric softener sheet lol... stolen idea

anyway, I am having troubles now, all of a sudden.

My 2.4C is runnign at 3.25 or so Ghz, but MBM5 says its only running at 2.98. CPUZ shows 3.25 but I donno which to believe.

Also, when playing games or even running 3dmark, I get what appears to be lag spikes... just a wierd hang up where like, say, if I'm running, suddenly things stop for about 1/2 second to 1 second, then start up again... and 3dmark is all choppy...

I don't know if I'm explaining this very well, but it all just started.

Could it be that somehow I borked something while vacumming? has to be.. any ideas what may be messed up? This really sucks, I have so much money invested in this thing.. I just bought a 74Gb Raptor that should be delivered by FedEx any minute.

And my machine is fux0red!! argh...

Whatever was wrong, fixed itself.

It is wierd.

There was definately screwed up because of the choppiness of 3dmark and games... but, for whatever reason, that went away at the same time MBM 5 started reporting the correct cpu speed, 3250 Mhz or something close to taht..

Its fixed, and I did nothing.

oh, well.. guess i should just be happy LOL

You're gonna love the Raptor 74 GB. They are quite the drive. Quiet, cool running and very fast. I liked my RAID 0 (2xRaptor 73.4 GB) so much, I ordered two more yesterday to do another RAID 0.:)

yes, the Raptor is great! very quiet (other than the seek noise lol), and very fast. beats the hell out of my old WD400 lol.
