rashio, why do you have soo much vdimm pumping through your ram? your ram can probably handle 250mhz with like only 2.8-2.9vdimm

I think its becoze he have enough tight timings for the PC3700.

Thanks guys... I'm in the proces of trying to find a descent oc'er as hard as that sounds...what makes it worse is i'm in SA, no suppliers allow u 2 check sSPecs so its the luck of the draw or buying an existing CPU that some1's tried...
Off topic: whats the general consensus or guesstamation of the overclockability of the prescotts?!

no, the best 2.8 you can have is M0(SL6Z5)

I got a 2.8C SL6WJ waiting on the desk:
FPO/BATCH#: Q344A565
Pack Date: 11/20/2003
Malay
Will probably test some tomorrow.

We haven't even seen one overclocked yet so you can't give out numbers like this.
It should do it, it wouldn't be possible to NOT clock higher than the Northwood, but you get my point.

Yeah, sure.
I will be most likely installing the hardware today into antec 1080AMG case. Cpu will be cooled by zalman 7000a-cu.
Other hardware:
Abit AI7
KHX3500 with BH5 chips
Just wondering how the crooked socket will effect the cooling performance, since the whole heatspreader wont't be making contact with the heatsink. Oh well, only a small area from two corners that won't make contact, so i should be ok :)

A little 1:1 action. This was achieved on my P4C800-E. First shot was on a Max 3

Im alway impress to see your chip mrzee:toast:
EDIT: And man you did 290 RAM!!!!!! I think you love KHX 3500 too;)
and is that stable????
mrzee

Thanks skate. No, not stable, only good for screenshots. 3D stable at 282 fsb.

still damn good man!!!!!!!!!!
I can only do 230FSB w/ the same same chip:mad::(

Exact the same fpo/batch?
So far i haven't seen any results with such a new 2.8C.
So far so good, first test at 220MHz fsb, default Vcore and has been priming(two of them) for quite a while now.
Temps are at 43C, this zalman really is nice :)
230MHz fsb = 3225MHz at default vcore prime stable. Will keep on testing :)

you do what im doing at 1.575;).
Good you have a good CPU:)
240MHz fsb = 3360MHz is stable at 1.55V, will keep on testing :)
skate2snow
01-23-2004, 04:32 PM
you will do 250FSB w/ 1.6;)
At least 3475MHz seems to be stable at ~1.61V. Got error after 20 minutes when running at 3500MHz the first time, but i'll let the cpu burn if for a couple of days :)
skate2snow
01-23-2004, 05:15 PM
and thats AIR!!!!!!!! good one;). go for exotic cooling and see 4GHz
I'm very happy with the results so far :)
Although im forced to use 5:4 memory divider resulting into ~5500MB/s bandwidth, but that's not so bad compared to the price i'd have to pay for modules that could handle 250MHz(at least here in Finland). :)

whats your RAMs??
I got two KHX3500's, not sure whether they're with BH5 or CH5.
Some benchmarking: 3dmark 03: 6430, 3dmark 01: 19449
Need to install vga silencer + ramsinks for radeon, after that i should be able to hit 20k mark :)
Oh yeah, 3.5GHz seems stable right now. 3am, not the best time for overclocking. Better go to bed.
Had forgotten tight ram timings, benchmarks improved immediadly :)
3dmark 03: 6693, 3dmark01: 20258 :)

your RAMs are very good;).
BTW: when you improve your RAM timing did you have low your score in car lo and nature(like me)??? I know its really strange:confused: but the lobby have improved by 20%:D
Unfortunately i didn't upload the first result to orb, but i think i only got increases, no decreases.
Tested these chips a bit, they can handle ~240MHz 2-3(ras to cas)-5-2 @ 3.2V when running Street Racer A-A-D-D. Not quite enough, but i can cope with the 5:4 divider :)
Well, it seems like i'll only be needing one new memory chip.
One of my chips does ~235-240 2-2-2-5 3.2V and the other 252 2-2-2-5 3.2V :)
skate2snow
01-25-2004, 10:37 AM
theyre the same batch???
Nope, the older memory is the one which handles higher fsb.
skate2snow
01-25-2004, 11:07 AM
oh!!!! you didnt buy it in DC!!!!!
You should try to sell those and buy BH5s in DC
Both khx3500's have bh5 chips as far as i know.
skate2snow
01-25-2004, 12:04 PM
But you should sell those and buy some PC3200(theyre as good) or the PC300o(as good too;)). Coze if you buy a new stick of PC3500(KHX) the chance are very slice that you will pick another stick of BH5(theyre CH5 now, but you can still find some BH5-RARE-).
Only going to buy pre-tested memory or memory i can test myself.

He does not need to sell his RAM at all.
And in fact it would be a very stupid move to sell some old BH5, as that stuff is very good.

I agree.
Keep them. You won't find anything better. ;)
Yep, i had no intentions to sell this stick which does 252MHz fsb 1:1 2-5-2-2 at 3.2V, only the other one(probably bh5 as well) which will do ~235MHz.
At least i figured that running 1:1 divider using such mean timings would give a nice performance boost when compared to 5:4(memory bandwidth is now ~5550MB/s with pat enabled, should have 6200-6500MB/s with 1:1, correct?).
Right now im scoring 7029 in 3dmark03 and 21390 in mark01.
edit: typorama :)

But he says he whant to change one, but he will not have the same potential on the new stick he will buy as well.
Are you trying to quote my the more as possible!!!???
Alright, found a khx3200 with bh5 that'll do 250 2-5-2-2.
