Coolant Question

I am just wondering if there is an alternative coolant to propane that is not flamable and safe? I know you can use r134-a, but I heard it performs worse. How much worse does it perform temperature wise? I am new and don't really know, so can someone compare it to normal phase change temps for me. Thanks.

Have you checked your local auto parts store? I found a large selection at pep boys of different charges.

Took me a while to find a good balance of flow to keep the compressor cool for several hours of operation.
