I got a a/c unit and I took out the fan. I let it run for about 1 hour. But no cold. :( anyone got any suggestion as to what i should do with this. I'm assuming the a/c is to old to refill so should i take the commpessor apart and clean and use another type of refrigerant? If so is there a guide for this somewhere out there (with pics and stuff)? What refrigerant should i use?

thankyou

chances are the AC unit has a termostat on it. When it gets to a certain point it probably stops cooling. Try removing the thermostat and putting it on a running CPU between a HSF. Then run Prime 95. IF that doesnt work. Try removing the thermostat altogether. If neither works, the AC unit probably isnt properly charged and may need to be topped off. Better leave this to the phase change big boys tho. Im a TEC guy myself.

uhh
Theres 2 yellow wires running into the termostat.
Should I take them out and tape them together?
Would that make the a/c unit run at full power?

Now that you have it working, shut it off. It's not good to run it that way.

Stick the evaporator in a reservoir, fill it with windshield washer fluid, get a pump to circulate the fluid, and then you can turn it back on.

Check out the "Chiller A/C unit" thread in the stickies:

And show us some pics. :D

Yep ,get pics and postem on the chiller/AC sticky , Also most the answers to your questions are there ,
for the pump I use a danner magdrive 500gph but more or less would be fine . the Danner magdrive Supreme series pumps are very rugged .
